Brookdale

They are doing an excellent job. We are really pleased with it, so far. I don't have any complaints with them at all.

With the Sterling House being a smaller community my father get the personal attention he deserves. There are plenty of activities for him that he stays busy. A benefit to the sterling House of Owasso is the fact they only "Up" care as needed.

We thought it was a very, very nice and clean facility that was well lit. We felt we were getting what we paid for when my mother was staying there. 5 stars all around!

It's only been two months since our dad moved in and a lot of progress has been made. My dad is a new person after we moved in to their assisted living. He was depressed and falling a lot while living alone. Who thought all he needed was the extra help and care?...The staff is courteous, always willing and very knowledgeable. There were concerns at first with the housekeeping and laundry schedules, but their wellness nurse and head of the facility (Jeorge) is committed in making sure our concerns were addressed. And probably the reason why they run such a great establishment. We are very happy with our choice for dad so far!

My Dad has lived at Clare Bridge for nearly two years. I am there almost every day to spend time with him. I selected Clare Bridge for my Dad after researching area facilities online and by phone, and then touring the several facilities on my short list. My initial visit to Clare Bridge was a drop-in visit on a cold, snowy Sunday afternoon. Inside it was bright and warm, and caregivers were sitting at tables in an activity room doing an art project with residents. There were dog dishes and a dog pillow for the resident dog, Lily, in the living room. I could smell supper cooking. I was welcomed and given a walk-through introduction to the facility. I came back to talk to the manager during business hours, and another time to eat lunch there and sit in on an activity. I was made to feel welcome every time. Clare Bridge feels like home, not an institution. The smaller scale (all one level, with a circular walking path) is a good fit for my Dad. I like that he has his own bedroom/potty, but that the private rooms for baths are separate and supervised. The staff/resident ratio was comparable to other facilities at the time I was researching. The caregivers at Clare Bridge are kind, patient, responsive, and positive. They undergo training when hired, and continue learning every day on the job, as they mentor each other on what is helpful with individual residents (for example, how to best help an individual resident to use her eating utensils, or what need an individual resident is expressing with his behavior). Each caregiver is a valued team member. Their ideas and input are encouraged in “stand up” meetings. Call buttons are responded to in a timely manner. The daily structured activities follow a predictable schedule and are seven days a week. My thought is that the repetitiveness of activities allows residents to feel comfortable in mastering the activities and secure in knowing what to expect. I have also observed individualized one-on-one activity time with residents, as well. Residents are individually invited and encouraged to come to activities, and made to feel welcome. There are occasional field trips on the Clare Bridge bus, for example, trips to a Lugnuts game, to the mall, lunch out, bowling, and visiting an apple orchard. Recently there has been a musical performance once a month in the evening. . Also, the Lansing area offers many additional opportunities for me to take my Dad out for enrichment activities when he has desired additional stimulation and activity, for example, classes, concerts, and museums. You can tell that a great deal of thought has gone into creating a pleasant dining experience. There are tablecloths on the table, cloth napkins, and “real” dishes. Caregivers are aware of interpersonal relationships and work to encourage social interaction through seating patterns. Individual help in eating is provided for those who need it. Food arrives at the table ready for specific individuals. For example, chicken is served chopped finely for someone who has trouble chewing. Another resident is given food that can be eaten with her fingers. Meals are relaxed, and accommodate slow eaters. Sometimes classical music is playing in the background. Also, snacks are offered three times a day. Residents’ families are invited to join their loved ones at special dinners several times a year. I enjoy the opportunity to meet other families who are in a similar stage of life. Clare Bridge sponsored two family information meetings, which were very helpful. One discussed dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, and the other one was about holiday family times. My Dad’s monthly cost has varied (both up and down) over his time at Clare Bridge, according to his needs as outlined in his personal service plan. When I have seen the need for change in the type and frequency of care (more service or less service) I have requested a meeting for a review of his plan, and adjustments have been made. I feel that Clare Bridge is a safe, supportive, and protected place for my Dad.

We toured here when we were looking. It was between this and another Brookdale. They both had fine care. Ultimately we chose based on the location and what was easier for people visiting her to get to. This looked like a good option too though.

They are doing a great job. It's clean, and the staff is friendly. Their coordination on certain things could be a little better, as far as coordinating with outside services, and what they do and what the services need to do. The food isn't bad, the quality is good, and it's nutritious. There are some things she prefers over others but I would give the food a 4 out of 5, you can always improve on some things. I did like that once they found out that she has a preference in the for things to be a certain way, she doesn't have to ask, they just started doing it. It was a toss up between this and another Brookdale, and we chose this because we liked the location, it made it easier for people to visit.

I loved Brookdale Camino del Sol. I felt this is the perfect place for my Mom and I am awaiting the input of my brothers before making this decision. The place was clean, the residents seemed happy and the staff was very friendly. I also liked all the outdoor spaces and activites provided for the residents.

So far I'd say that Southerland Place has done an excellent job, I'd give them top marks across the board. The staff are knowledgeable and caring, and they've helped us a lot with some excellent caregiving advice. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and they have a fairly good meal service as well.

We toured this community when we were looking into options for a loved one. Brookdale Gaines Ranch is a very nice looking place! The staff are friendly, caring, and professional, and the facility itself is well kept and clean. It is definitely near the top of our list!

They are doing an excellent job. I think it's working out pretty well. We are pleased with it. We They have been very attentive and responsive. They didn't charge a second person fee, they were pretty much the only ones that didn't. I also liked the location it's close enough to stores that they could walk. This was one of the only places that when we went in there were always people around and activity going on, there is a vibrant feel to the community when you walk in.

Staff is very friendly and helpful, and patient with our 95 year old loved one as she adjusts to the new environment and schedule. It is wonderful to have onsite health care professionals, beauty salon, and great dining options.

We met with Ms. Brown on Monday. Everyone we met was very friendly. The residents were active and looked happy to be there. The dining area was very inviting. We were impressed with the one bedroom that we were shown.

The lady that introduced me to everyone has been just incredibly friendly and helpful, as has everyone else that we have run into. Everyone there gets a five star rating in my book.

They were really excellent with my father in that he was pretty difficult to deal with at first and they bent over backwards to make it work, and took their time to help him get adjusted. He was pretty difficult and they did an excellent job working with him.

My mom only lasted there ten days (she fell and broke her hip and had to go into rehab) so we did not have a lot of experience to go on, but the experience we had during that time was really good. Very nice place with excellent care and people.

Very attentive care staff. the Director is amazing and responds to your requests right away. they realy take pride in what they do and everone always seems to be smiling. this community is worth every penny as they do not disappoint. I would recommend anyone to bring their family here for Assisted Living.

We toured this community when we were looking into senior living options for a loved one. This was a very nice looking place, overall! We toured a few different Brookdale communities and we were impressed with all of them. New England Bay Retirement Living is clean, well kept, and the people we worked with all seemed friendly!

Those people there are super stellar! Amy (do not know her last name) is especially a really wonderful, very sweet to my mother. (Amy deserves a bonus!!!) My mom was at first afraid to go there, but they have done an excellent job welcoming her in and making her feel at home. I am just super happy with the whole experience! I would highly recommend them to anybody! My mom is very picky about her food, but says the food there is really good. She is very happy! I cannot recommend them highly enough! We checked out four other facilities in this area, and they were by far the best, and so happy that we chose them!

I like that everyone is very, very nice. Everyone is legitimately good in what they do. I would get more staff in their dining facility, according to my mom. No complaints about food though, just think they could use more help.
