Brookdale

They are doing an amazing job during the Covid-19 pandemic. The staff is very helpful and I am glad my mother is so well taken care of. The care is also great. I do wish there was more engagement available to my mother, however during the Covid-19 pandemic, I understand why they are so careful with isolation. Although it is a lot of money, you get what you pay for and I also like being so close to her. They could however improve on the food.

Overall, the place is immaculate. Other than one of the front desk staff, everyone has been so helpful and they have really persevered with my aunt and everything is going terrifically. They have done a great job with managing my aunt's diabetic medication. Previous to this community, she had repeated trips to the hospital for blood sugar issues, and that has not happened once with Brookdale. Even through some of my aunt's troubling behaviors, the staff won her over and treated her with nothing but kindness. In addition to that, they also provide adequate activities and will even take the residents off-community, which my aunt really enjoyed.

The community looked very clean when I visited. The staff is all very friendly and informative. Any time I call, its not a problem and whenever I ask a question, they are quick to find an answer. They have also been very cooperative with my movers, which is great.

I'm 79 and have lived here almost 4 years. It's a wonderful place to live. The staff is over-the-top terrific. Always patient and helpful. It has been such a scary time and [name removed] and staff have guided us with strength and knowledge and speed. Any questions I have are immediately answered. Thanks for such good care.

The marketing team was very informative, helpful & caring. Though there was an uncomfortable issue upon arrival the care team seems to show personal interest & endearing attention.

These marvelous people have worked so hard keeping us healthy. They are always cheerful and professional. I was so happy for them they went back to just once a day. A huge thanks to some wonderful people!!!

I have been privileged to live at Parkplace through the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. While we have been quarantined in our apartments, the staff has done a remarkable job of caring for us - delivery of meals, mail, and groceries, multiple zoom lectures, classes (including us backward techies in getting on zoom), fresh flowers delivered, apts. cleaned, paradise around the building. I feel safe, healthy, and well-loved. The staff deserves a tremendous THANK YOU!

I like the size of my two-bedroom apartment and it faces west with a view of the mountains.

All is going well staff friendly and efficient. I feel safe in their care during COVID-19.

I love it! 1) Could have more outings - I would be willing to pay! It is not beneficial for people just to sit and watch the world go by! Got to keep everything moving! Physically and mentally. 2) More entertainment (I would pay) even residents who have musical talent! Involvement is a positive thing! Even for older people! 3) I would be interested in knowing everyone's educational background before they moved into Parkplace.

A very pleasant community to walk into. Very warm and welcoming and decorated nicely. The staff is very good about attending to the needs of the residents and following through with our requests. The care provided is very good, however because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are unable to see our loved ones, but the staff has done a good job with stepping up and providing extra support. They have all types of activities available for the residents. Definitely a good value for the price. We are very pleased and feel my dad is safe at Brookdale!

They work really hard to make everyone comfortable. The food is really good. It was better when it was served in the dining room. The room size is adequate. They have a nice outdoor courtyard in the middle of the community.They have nice seating on the front porch. Everyone is very friendly, they are on a first name basis with all the residents.

[Name removed] was amazing! She answered most of questions without asking. The tour was thorough and we even met several of the residents which made my mother feel more at ease. We are proceeding with the enrollment and have every confidence this is the place for her.

The staff are very family oriented. They really loved the residents as well as their families and friends who visited. The staff made everyone feel welcomed and they were very accommodating. Our dad ate so well there. He really liked the food and they offered a nice variety and menu options for the residents. We chose this community because we really liked the home atmosphere, it was smaller, and they really treated everyone like family so you weren't lost in the shuffle. The staff addressed everyone by name. It's really a wonderful place.

From the moment we toured Brookdale Weddington Park we knew it was the right place for our mother. We were impressed with the warm and friendly staff, the cleanliness of the facilities, the fact that most of the employees had worked there for many years. Unfortunately we moved Mom in during the coronavirus and she had to be quarantined but the staff made the best of a challenging situation and their upbeat attitude helped Mom deal with it positively. We are looking forward to the time when we can get in to see Mom and her new room. But for now we can rest assured that she is well taken care of and where she needs to be and that gives us peace of mind.

I actually visited this community during their renovations and I can't wait to see them again. I was looking for a studio and one bedroom for my mother and they have great floor plans and they are good sizes. The staff is soo warm and welcoming and there is a lot of life and movement. The were a lot of women out sitting on the front porch laughing and one had a dog-so they are pet friendly. I like that there are two dining rooms and the residents can choose to sit in a formal dining room or casual dining room. They added a theater, fitness center and bistro which is nice to enjoy. The women I met with introduced me to the Executive Director and we had a long conversation and she was so knowledge. Overall very beautiful community. My tour was very informative and felt very homey. My mother loved it.

This has been a really hard time for everyone during this Covid-19 pandemic. My Mom has been taken care of very well. They have kept us informed on everything with her, sent us pictures and helped have a meeting with her on Zoom. They are having weekly Zoom meetings with all the families and been very helpful in answering any questions. I would highly recommend the to anyone.

The move-in process for my dad was a bit rough, however there has been some staff turnover since then, which has clearly improved the community greatly. The new staff and management are great and have been very communicative with us especially with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The food at Brookdale Orland Park is excellent and a much healthier option for my dad than what he was previously used to. The staff at Brookdale Orland Park has saved his life! They have improved his health greatly and they clearly care a lot for him and as a result, take great care of him. It was difficult for him to make the adjustment to community living initially, however it has been a great relief to us to see his health improve so much. During Covid-19 quarantine, they have made a clear effort to keep residents entertained and busy. I would recommend Brookdale to everyone! My rep with A Place for Mom was also extremely helpful during my dad's decision

We love the people at Brookdale, they are very friendly and warm. They brought in a lot of wonderful musical entertainment. My mother in law really loved the music. Food was not as good as some other communities. They did not have very many menu choices. The quality of the food was not as good. The Chef was wonderful with what her had to work with. They would take the residents on rides every Friday. The price was higher then some of the other communities in the area. My mother in law was able to have pets.
