Brookdale

We felt that this community was dark and old. It was also an assisted living facility which my loved one did not need. The tour was excellent we just did not like the facility. the lady that gave us the tour was very well informed and had a book for our other loved one.

Our family had an in person tour experience and this was my top choice for our parents. They had a lot more activities then other communities we looked at. Our parents would of been on the first floor with a nice patio making it convenient for them to go out and smoke. The rooms were bigger bright and airy, but the reason they did not choose it was because of the shower, they would of had to step into it. The community said it could be re-done but out our expense.

This is a wonderful community and I would highly recommend it. The staff are very caring and very unusual compared to other facilities and their culture. My loved one did not participate in many activities however, there were activities going on.

Our family had an in person tour and it was wonderful, the lady we worked with was so nice and even though we went with another community she continued to call us even a few months later to check on us to see how everything is going. The reason we did not choose this community was their smoking arrangement, our loved one has to smoke and it was not allowed here, but if it was allowed this would of been our first choice.

As a family to make the decision to put your mother in a managed care environment and remove her from her comfortable home of 50 years becomes one of the most gut wrenching decisions a family will ever have to make. We met with several administrators from other facilities but after meeting with [name removed] and her staff it became overwhelmingly apparent that this was the right place for mom. She has been at Brookdale for over 18 months and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Our mother receives an incredible amount of attention and love for which we are all so very grateful. I found this place for my boyfriend's mom. She loves it there!! Very nice place and cost efficient. I like to friendliness of the staff and the residents too. They have a lot of activities for the residents I. would highly recommend this place.

We had a great tour with Brookdale Destin. The facility itself is a little older and just wasn't her style. It was also not centrally located so we went with another facility.

This was a very nice community, just too big for my loved one.

The key is that the staff are caring and compassionate. The community is kept very neat and clean and they have lots of activities for the residents. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

Our daughter is a nurse and she was the one who did the initial set up with Brookdale Beaverton so it was quite favorable. Compared to others in the area the value for cost is good. We aren't sure what activities our loved one is participating in so we could not rate that, and our loved one tends to be a picky eater and we felt it was unfair to rate the meals.

Brookdale is a nice place and all of the staff were friendly and helpful during our tour. It was a little older of a place compared to others that we looked at.

We chose Brookdale because of the friendliness of the staff members and the amount of cooperation that I got from them. My mother does have a private room and it is fine for what she needs. Everyone her is friendly and easy to work with. I would recommend to others looking.

My dad has a new found meaning in life since he moved to this place. He was living at home alone after my mom died. He is able to have meals prepared for him every day. We are so thankful for them.

This was a very nice community but they felt that they would not be able to care for my loved one.

Our first impression of Brookdale was that it completely changed our idea on what assisted living looked like. It has a very homey atmosphere, it did not feel like a "facility" or "nursing home." It is bright clean, modern and very welcoming. We just so happened to stumble upon this community after others that we were recommended and we liked the smallness of it, it is closer in location and the staff turnover rate is very low. It was a great find.

We are beyond excited to have our mother at The Gardens. The facility is clean and fully renovated. The staff is extremely friendly, well prepared and organized. Making the transition was a breeze. My mother felt so welcomed. We hope to be a member of the community for many, many years!

I distinctly remember the first conversation I had with [name removed] of Brookdale Gardens of Tarzana. I was in a panic. I explained to [name removed] that we were no longer able to properly care for my mother, [name removed], 88 years old, and I didn't know what to do. The thought of dropping my mother off at a "nursing home" seemed sad and cruel, but she quickly explained to me why BGT was not a nursing home. She very quickly talked me off the ledge and gave me a very detailed and accurate description of BGT that made me realize I wasn't alone and she was there to help, so I made arrangements for a tour for the next day. I had already toured 5-6 other facilities and while they were just okay, I wasn't feeling at peace with any of them. When I got to BGT and met [name removed], she immediately put me at ease and gave me a complete tour of the facility. She then took the time to answer all of my many questions, not only about Brookdale, but also about the complete process of transitioning my mother to assisted living. She asked about my mother's favorite food and her hobbies and many other questions about who my mother is. This al helped tremendously. [name removed] was able to answer EVERY question I had accurately and thoughtfully, as well as give me so much more information that I didn't know or had thought about. She did this all with kindness and understanding. [Name removed] suggested that I bring my mother over for a tour so I followed that advice. She arranged for Chef [name removed] to prepare my mother's favorite Italian meal, eggplant parmesan, as well as for her to have lunch with several ambassadors. This was a tremendous success and went a very long way towards putting my mother's mind at ease. . . as well as my own. The move in process was fairly painless. [Name removed] and the rest of the staff helped us with all the information we needed as well as all the information we didn't know we needed. Mom has now been living at Brookdale for about 6 weeks and the transition has been very smooth in every way. She's made friends there and has been enjoying some of the activities. She's told me on many occasions, "Everyone's so nice here. They take good care of me." That's all I need to hear.

The staff was professional and kind. They took excellent care of my mother. So much so that I've referred them to two other friends for their parents.

Please mention my name so that you can get a referral fee. This is a nice place and I am happy that I was able to find somewhere for my loved one. Feels more like a resort than other places and it worked perfect for what we needed. I see this place as somewhere I would go for sure.

During the pandemic, my Mother who was living alone fell down and broker her femur - ended up having surgery then sent to a rehab center. She is extremely social and active and didn't feel ready for "additional care." It was only at that point that she agreed to consider Assisted Living facilities. I am an avid researcher - and was tasked with finding a place that she would love. I researched every single AL place in Monrovia/Arcadia and surrounding areas and focused on a few that seemed like a possible fit. Just looking at the pictures of Brookdale Monrovia made me smile. I knew my Mom would LOVE the courtyard - which reminds us of New Orleans. Her room has a balcony that overlooks the courtyard and she enjoys her coffee in the morning, and wine in the evening out there. She has made some very dear friends - and is able to be as social as she desires. I don't have a call with her where she doesn't thank me for "finding this amazing place for her." We couldn't be happier!
