Brookdale

Very nice but needs to have the "right" client. My parents would feel that the dining room was too fancy for them.

The staff are friendly, helpful and answer our questions. Mom does not care for the food. They offer daily activities, however she is not yet participating in them as she is still adjusting to living there. I would recommend this community.

This is a very nice community and my tour went well. The staff was kind and welcoming. My questions were answered, the staff was informative. From what I saw the community looked great. Unfortunately they do not offer memory care and that is what my mother needed. Overall it was a pleasant tour.

It seems to be going pretty good for my mom. Not much is wrong from my brother's view. My mom has complained about the organization for her bathing. Once she buzzed for help and it took a long time for a staff to help her. My brother believes that it is a wonderful place. I think the staff are trying the best to help get my mom comfortable. Overall, it seems like a decent community and we like it.

The staff at this community are conscientious, qualified and treat my wife so well. The food looks appetizing, healthy and she seems to like it. She did enjoy the music and dancing they had one night. The manager that helped us in the beginning was the main reason we chose this community. She is no longer there and I think once they hire a new manager things might improve. We would recommend this community.

My tour of this facility went very well. I toured this community for my friend, but she wasn't to pleased with this community. I thought the community looked great. From what I saw everything looked great. The staff was kind and courteous. They were informative and answered all my questions. Their rates were a little to expensive for our budget. Also her would had been on the third floor and she doesn't like elevators. Overall This is a good community.

The community is currently under construction, however it is wonderfully decorated and exceptionally clean. I think the food tastes fine but my sister does not like it. I do not think they are able to accommodate different dietary needs. The staff are helpful, friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this community to family and friends. Everything is well documented and tracked when I visit. She likes to go out on some outings and they try to get her to participate in other activities.

Being a nurse I looked very closely at the surrounding for safety, cleanliness and security. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. The clients all seemed clean, happy and engaging. I liked the " restaurant" atmosphere so my mom could choose her meals, which she says are very good but too much!

My mother is having some health issues but overall we are pleased with this community. The staff is lovely here, they are very attentive. The community for the most part is well-kept. There are great activities offered, she is really getting involved in the community. She is pleased with the food. They have really provided me with a peace of mind, knowing she being cared for well. This is a community I would recommend.

My mother in law has her up and downs here at this community. My daughter is the one who make sure they are taking good care of her and her needs. From what she has told me my mother in law is starting to come around. It was a hard transition for us. She has made some new friends, the residents are friendly. The staff is courteous and friendly. One down side has been that they do not provide transportation. Overall It has been a good experience.

Very nice community. Apartments were nice and my mom really liked the screened in porch. This is the community my mom has chosen and I'm sure she will be very happy there.

My sister is happy since moving into Brookdale Kerrville. The staff are really nice and helpful. The food leaves a little to be desired and there have been some minor issues with the billing.

Friendly and helpful to my sisters and I who live out-of-state and call frequently about our parents both in Brookdale, Stuart, Florida

We're hoping that our move in process was an anomaly, indicative of neither the typical move in experience nor on going care decisions by the community staff. Our initial move in date was postponed by Brookdale after my mom had a fall, but not until we had moved her completely and were settling her in. Because the fall took place outside her home, they had concerns that she might wander, despite actual circumstances and no previous history of wandering. So we were compelled to take her home to a house in complete disarray, not yet cleaned and devoid of all her belongings. We had to restock food, scrounge bedding from neighbors and buy clothing items we hadn't anticipated needing. Because of a holiday, staff left early for the weekend and were off on Monday, so despite meeting all requested criteria, no one was available to make a decision for us for six days. Our whole reason for moving her in the first place was because she was living in deplorable conditions and is struggling with dementia. Moving back to her home, turned upside down, absent all of her most important personal belongings and still filthy, was devastated to her, as she struggled to understand what was happening. When we were eventually allowed to move her in, one of us was required to stay with her in her unit for a week, and we were told we then need to arrange a private health care individual to sit outside her door every night for two weeks. The health care worker requirement was dropped on the day it was to start, after all arrangements had been made. None the less, we were thankful to avoid this final expensive and intrusive condition. Overall, we think this is the best place for our Mom and the daily staff is very friendly, generally bending over backwards to accommodate her needs. We're hopeful that our move in experience was a fluke. That future decisions regarding her care are based on her best interest, rather than what appeared to be an attempt to protect their bottom line from a possible, yet non-existent issue, with blatant disregard for the fragile state of an elderly individual.

My friend likes living at this community and it is very nice. The minor issue I have is that the dining room staff do not seem well trained. The other issue I have is that I feel they need more organization. I spoke to the head nurse, the director and the marketing director and none of them knew anything about his insurance change that we needed to complete.

Our contact at Brookdale was very helpful and knowledgeable about our specific needs. We met many of the staff and several residents during our tour. All areas we toured were well maintained and clean. The facilities are in the process of being remodeled and a new addition added. They will have new one bedroom accommodations we are looking for available in approximately 6 weeks. We will definitely consider this facility for placement.

We are really enjoying our time here at this facility. It is truly a great place. They do a very good job with keeping our room and the community well maintained. The staff is kind, they have been helpful and respectful. The food is decent, they serve well balanced meals. Overall everything is working out very well and I would recommend it.
