The way they bill ya and stuff, that's about the only thing that I kind of disagree with, but they're working with me. It's just I don't understand some of the things that they do. We only have one person, I didn't want multiple people coming in and if he can't come in I just let it go. I guess it was a couple of people that I spoke to, different companies and I just chose him. They just were, as far as I was concerned, more knowledgeable about Alzheimer's and stuff. Financially it's hard and I'm supposed to be getting some help but they're taking their sweet time.

I met Perfecto in May of 2012. He came to our Senior Center to perform and told the audience about the services Magic Touch provided and the staff from Magic Touch was there as well to answer questions about the home care services they provide. We were all very interested in what he had to say and we have his brochures available for people and we also have his ad in our monthly newsletter. Perfecto sings and has a fantastic "One Man Show". The seniors love him and the warmth and trust he has for others is clearly noticed by all. He sings songs that bring joy to everyone. When he meets you the first time you have an instant respect for who he is and what he stands for. I would never have a problem recommending Magic Touch to anyone.

I chose Senior Helpers because I had a connection with the owner, Rod. We got to talking and he made me feel good, they are hands on with their company. Senior Helpers has done everything they said they would. Their rates are comparable with similar services, and they are a little cheaper in some respects; we were surprised by the expensiveness of the industry on the whole. As far as activities go I haven't seen that they do a whole lot, but that may be my loved one not wanting to do much of anything. They brought over people to meet my loved one before starting which we really appreciated.

Mark is the person who runs Synergy and he was able to make my mother feel comfortable and answered any question we had with confidence. The way he presents him self with control and confidence really makes a difference. He has a fantastic chef that works for him that is able to prepare diabetic and healthy meals as well.

AllCare Associates is a small company, I chose them because they weren't so commercial. They took time during the placement interview to get to know my mom and her needs (kind of like a dating service) and matched her with the right caretakers. They keep everything very clean; the aides and director are very friendly.

Our caregiver has been a great help in getting things done on a regular basis that we normally put off because they are difficult for us.

We have had Cornerstone caregivers here every day for the last 3 months with hospice providing all medical needs. Most of the time I asked for 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening. My wife cannot get get out of bed. I tell them when they get here that their main task is to change her and bathe her as needed, and keep her comfortable and talk to her. I have probably seen at least 20 of their people. You don't really have a choice as to who shows up for a given shift. Of those 20, I would say five were outstanding. Very compassionate, patient, knowledgeable and capable people. They are not only willing to help with other tasks like preparing meals, laundry etc., but seek out those things. I would say the next 10 did all of the changing and bathing as required and were compasionate and capable but didn't offer much else. The last 5 were capable of changing her but not someone I would want back. I hope this helps.

Good at helping me

Owners are nice, caregivers are nice. I needed a different schedule than they could consistently provide, so I chose to go with a company that could.

Staff is very good, helpful with patient care and home care. Always a pleasant and positive attitude.

I am very happy with my current caregiver. She is very efficient, friendly, helpful in things I can’t have trouble doing, including shower, and listens to me. The director explained everything well to my family when I started, and was knowledgeable but also very friendly to me and my family . I believe the fees charged are reasonable in comparison to other agencies and it is my choice how many hours a week I want/need. I am glad that I can pay by credit card but don’t think I should have to pay extra to do that, which I currently am doing. I like that I don’t have to sign a contract. I am glad I found Cornerstone Care.

After contacting several home care agencies, Care-builders was the most cost effective. There are 3 aids currently. Two have been great. One was reported for leaving early.

They were attentive to my situation with my mother and a last minute need for care in under 24 hours of contacting them. They found a solution and the caretaker [name removed] was amazing.

I used Cornerstone to provide a caregiver for my wife while I was out of town for the day. All seemed to have gone well. Our caregiver vacuumed while she was here. My wife seemed to be ok with the experience

I have not had the need to use them yet. We met with the manager in our home and made the decision that they were the service we would use, but that is as far as it has gone.

I don’t know if we have found the exact right caregiver yet, but the director has gone to great lengths to make this relationship work. They have been very flexible with scheduling. Communication has been exceptional.

This service has helped me find different ways to finance assisted living and set up tours of facilities. I feel it provides me a clear direction and timeline, especially with a busy schedule.

We met with [name removed], the owner, over the phone & immediately felt like this was a good fit for our Mom. In the beginning, there were a couple of glitches (a dirty car, driver being late) but they were identified & rectified. Mom is very happy to have more independence & is making her own arrangements for outings. We’re very happy & thankful for this group!

It was pleasant and informative. I decided to engage with them and have helper twice a month to start and see if this fits my needs. The interview was fine but too long and could be reduced by at least a half an hour. Your rep was efficient and quite knowledgeable Im hoping this will work out as I feel a definite need to have someone come in and assist me in different ways each time she comes to my home. The 3 hours time frame seems great. Looking forward to my first date on Wed. By the way this is NOT a contract but an agreement. There are no forced conditions if this does not work out. Which I hope does not occur.

I have been with Amada just a few weeks. They have supplied with several good caregivers but they don't seem to stay long.I am looking for permanet caregivers to fill my open shifts.We are still looking. I know it takes time to find the right people but it's a very hard process when you're trying to find help for your loved one.
