My family discontinued services with Senior Helpers about 4 months after beginning services. While nice and tried to be responsive- the skill set of caretakers did not match social or care needs

The caregiver that Omni provided was not a good fit for my parents, and when I ask them for a new one, they said they didn't have any so I ended up contacting [service name removed] and using a caregiver from them. I think they might be downsizing the caregiving team. The last time I talked to the coordinator she told me they were reevaluating the caregiving portion of their business.

We eventually ended their services in [date removed]. The biggest gap that they had was lack of effective communication between different caregivers. There were several incidents that turned serious due to not keeping track of meds and food intake. She also remained in a chair for two days where she soiled herself, but fortunately was still brought food and water. The next different caregiver two days later discovered it and finally reported this to us.

It's all about the caregiver. The agency may be a good one, but there are very few true natural caregivers. Finding that one special person is difficult. Many of the 5-6 we tried were nice ladies. A couple of them just moved on to other positions. One was a pretty good fit, but she wasn't available on the days we needed her. Another was unacceptable. And one we came to feel we couldn't trust. We finally gave up on Veritas. Through a family friend we got a recommendation for an individual, and she has been with us 6 months now. We love her, trust her, and she has been a true blessing to our family. Bottom line, the agency is only as good as the quality and reliability of their caregivers. And every agency has a few jewels among their employees. But they're hard to find.

The Senior Helpers team worked very quickly to get my mother's care giving team together ASAP. It was a Rocky start with some missed and uncovered shifts but was starting to come together until my mother eventually had a relapse and had to go back to the ER and finally into Long Term Care. I believe that the team would eventually get more solid as time went on and just needed to get the right people in place.

I would recommend them because their rates are on the low side, yet the caregivers seem adequately skilled and experienced. They're better than most in terms of cost and caregiver availability on short notice.

My first interaction was quick and helpful, with a fast set up getting someone to help my mom. Unfortunately, due to my mom's illness we missed a few visits due to being in the hospital. My mom was concerned about paying for the last-minute cancellation, my sister and I tried paying online, calling for help and trying several times but were never able to get the online payment system to work, nor receive a call back from office staff. After my mom passed, I called to get the account settled and was told it was all set, but I received an invoice asking for payment. I was told after calling them that I didn't have to pay it, that it was there so the office knew to pay the companion. My mom just loved her companion and enjoyed the 2 visits she had with her.

I would say that it doesn't live up to my expectations.

The lady I spoke to to set this up was great. I was not impressed with the people that came to help. One lady was never reliable and never showed up and they had to get somebody else to fill in and it was just random people on the one scheduled day. On the other schedule day that lady was consist but thats about it. Also, we had three requests, keep my dad company, run him on his errands since he didn't have a car at the time and to do some cleaning. cleaning the main floor bathroom, vacuum not major stuff. But the cleaning was never done. Its just seemed like a waste if money and people who were paid very little to do the least amount they could. I wouldn't recommend again. Definitely doesn't fit the commercials or adds you see.

What they can improve on is they can get better employees who actually do the work. At the moment based on the experience I have had, I would not recommend Assisting Hands Home Care of Centennial to other families.

The owners are fantastic people and very helpful. However, we tried a couple different caregivers and we had one no-show. We just weren’t able to find a good match for our home. We went with another agancy

The Owners of Koda Care were great, but I did find they didn't really listen to our needs. That being said, we did not articulate well since we really didn't know what to ask. They did recommend coming to the hospital while my mom was in there and that was helpful, but we ended up with 3 different caretakers (which I understand), but it meant I had to stay overnight to train each one. One was a go getter, and helped with organizing, but was a little much; one was quiet and would do what was asked, but showed up sick one day and the 3rd one, just sat and watched tv with my mom. I think my mom felt like she had to entertain them too much. Again, we didn't really have a plan to direct them on what to do. They were expensive and we found the minimum of 4 hours more than my mom could take. Hope this helped.

Sometimes it is hard to contact management initially; once contacted, very helpful. My son says my parent's house is very clean. Mom's personal assistant is very friendly, maybe to the point my dad may intimidate her to provide help for him (The contract is for my mom only). Mom is pleased with the care services. Mom's long-term care insurance pays

Presentation is great. The quality.Of personnel is so so. They Have too many personal issues The biggest problem they don't show up. You can't count on them to be there. I would not recommend them. We are using a different service and very happy

The initial meet and greet was really good. They convinced us they had top notch caregivers who were detail oriented and would give us the best care possible to my father elevating some of the stress I was under with taking care of him alone. We signed a contract & they started the following week for two days, 4 hours each day. Week two the care giver calls in sick. They send me an email (no phone call) which I didn’t read until several hours after that shift was over leaving my father without any care that day. Week three, the care giver wants to change her starting and end times to better suite her schedule. We accommodated her even though the hours were not the ideal hours we wanted. Then over the next two months that caregiver called out an average of 40% of the time leaving us high and dry without care. I don’t blame Home Instead for the caregiver calling out as that was out of their control. I do blame them for the lack of communication & the failure to give us reliable help.

We had one lady that regularly came out who was great. But, if she couldn't come, they had a hard time finding people to come out. They had to cancel or re-schedule on us several times.

I liked this company because they accommodated my hours… what I didn’t like about it was the inexperience of the caregivers and not being on time on a few occasions and not showing at all on one occasion without a call… the caregivers could not cook simple breakfast and damaged two comforters by not following washing instructions and put washing scented beads in my dryer which melted and are still stuck in my dryer. Not sure what the criteria is for a caregiver but definitely do not read instructions.

We briefly used home care services for our loved one through Homewatch CareGivers of Temecula and overall the experience was okay. The caregiver and services provided were acceptable.

New owners have made it less friendly and Never inform the actual person making decisions (me) about changes etc- they only communicate with the caregiver not the client- I have had attitude problems with some of the caregivers not wanting to do what is needed and staying on their phones mostly- some not able to cook, and doing things poorly and I definitely have an opinion about all that - I need help I do the best I can and it's been a struggle dealing with them and the people they have sent-And the schedule is NOT flexible when I need to adjust for appointments- both on the synergy side and the actual caregiver

They were extremely friendly and accommodating upfront. The actual caregivers: somewhere good, some could've been better. They were mostly reliable. They had someone quit and kind of had to scramble for a substitute. It seems like the staff isn't really that happy with the management. I don't think they pay very well. I would recommend them as long as they are prepared to have kind of a rotation of different caregivers and when they stop using them to make sure you give plenty of advance notice. Otherwise, you will not get your refund of your deposit back.
