While they were there they were fine. But missed 2 weeks, and I didn't get a phone call. When I called, they said it was hard to get someone to come to West Jefferson. Why would they take us on as a client of they couldn't staff it.

The director and "floater" they first sent out were great. The two they sent out to be regulars were not. Doubt I would recommend them. Price certainly too high for what we received.

They are easy to communicate with. Workers in our area are kind. If good communication and friendly caregivers is top priority then yes. If good "systems" , ability to work seamlessly with insurance and good retention of staff/scheduling is top priority then no, would not recommend.

We have had a few different people come in. Our regular one is pretty good, but the other ones we have had leave a lot to be desired. One took off before I even got home as I got caught in traffic and was 5 minutes late getting back. I don’t even know how long she stayed and mom isn’t to be left alone for any length of time. It’s like they are waiting at the door to get out without even waiting for me to get all the groceries in from the car or giving me any information on how mom’s afternoon went. If I walk in early, they are still out the door immediately. I miss the lady we had previously but haven’t been able to determine where she’s working or if she’s still doing the respite caregiving.

I originally asked for 4 days but ended up only having someone come 2 days because they weren’t able to find a person to come all 4 days. It has been difficult enough for my spouse to have a stranger come the two days so having 3 different people in a week would be extremely stressful. Because of the stress on him having someone he doesn’t know, is the reason I have terminated the service. I will have to explore other options at this time. I found the caregiver to be very good, she tried hard to get him to communicate but he wasn’t always receptive.

I’ve had several issues with senior Helpers Of York they do not like you the customer talking to the caregivers. I don’t know if they think you’re gonna take their caregivers aware and hire them independently but you always have to go through an office go through a scheduler. That’s not convenient for me when I have parents that are demented. I leave 30 minutes before the people show up for work and I asked them that they text me to say I have arrived in them. Our parents are OK,,,rarely does that occur. I have rescue dogs that are crated during the day while I’m away I feed and water them before I leave and have people actually left the dogs out of the crate while I was gone even left the dogs out of the house. That’s a problem for me for the dog safety and for my parent safety for them knocking them over. I’ve also had my parents state that some of them just sit on the couch and play on their phone. Add me minimum, they toilet Mother and make sure she’s fed

My husband is mid-stage into an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. He is very restless so we thought he would benefit from a helper once a week. He reluctantly agreed. He felt like his helper was just putting in her hours so he decided after the second time that he didn’t want to continue. The helper was nice but it was not a good fit at this time. We may try again later with a male helper. The agency was professional and easy to work with.

The caregiver assigned to my mom was not a good match. It was a very uncomfortable experience. She would have been fair as a companion but not a skilled caregiver. If I had interviewed her, she would not have been selected.

Good agency to work with. I wish we could afford more days. It was a little difficult asking them to do house work. I would recommend them. I like that they came out initially as a group to discuss things.

2 girls came. They were from Steelton i think. The second girl came in and sat on the couch. She had taken her shoes off, curled up on my couch and tried to put the foot rest,that side was out of broken. She got it and spent the four hours curled up on the couch. Then she left. The next girl came. basically did the same thing. I was making Sunday dinner but she didn't move. I could have used help with the dinner, still on the couch. She was going to a job in Linglestown and wanted to come here since she used an Uber to get around, but I had Homeland coming for the week The very first girl came with games and a computer to play games and watch movies. She announced she was ADHD, nothing wrong with that, but she tied me up telling me about her life and who she was marrying. At least she had a happy demeanor, not like the next two. However, I think for 4 hours the only interaction with my husband, was she brought him a glass of water.

The caregivers were great. Responsive and friendly and capable. The four hour minimum did not work well for us. And the number of different caregivers was challenging as well.

The primary aide, not a CMA at the time, spent a lot of time either watching her phone or talking on it. She was frequently late and lied about her hours more than once. The company was responsive so credit for that. $[removed] an hour was a lot for what was received.

Caregivers need better training / need more continuity in their caregivers/ some caregivers need to be more punctual/ many caregivers need to be more self-directed/ some difficulty in reaching live person in office.

They are able to do short shifts on relatively short notice which was a real plus, but there is some lack of coordination in administration several different people reach out about the same thing. hard to get accurate invoices. [name removed]was greatly helpful but still waiting for an invoice that I’ve asked for several times. The caregivers that I worked with from there were mostly all really good. I really liked [name removed] and I think her name is [name removed].

Liked best-they put up with my mother who could be very rude because of her dementia. [name removed] on would be to have the same workers more consistently. It was very confusing for her when they changed day to day. Yes. I would recommend their services to others

A few of the caregivers had little to no experience caring for my disabled son. Transferring him from his wheelchair to the toilet was especially problematic. I made a written schedule for the caregivers to follow, but a couple of them had trouble following it and/or reading a typed schedule. I had to let them go. I probably won’t use them again.

We have a routine schedule the agency has had issues staffing. The instances where a sub caregiver was needed were a disaster with one instance requiring the caregiver to be removed during the shift. In addition, I had to go to the facility to step in due to the shift being unable to be filled. I have now been informed the agency is having issues scheduling staff for two of the five scheduled evenings moving forward which is causing me to now have to find another Agency to fill in. Would not recommend them.

They sent many excellent caretakers for months to care for my elderly bedridden person. However, their young registered nurse was useless, recommending then refusing to do a simple procedure almost all RN’s are taught as first-year nursing students.

Despite several months of supplying us with good home caretakers, C& C refused to have their physician make a home visit for my frail 96-year-old diabetic husband. The last week of December my husband fell getting out of bed. As a result he had a large bleeding hand injury. C&C Insisted their doctor was “very busy” and thus unavailable for one week. They suggested going to a hospital instead. C & C was well aware that this option was untenable for a person of my husband’s and condition. We are trying to treat this injury at home and hoping all will go well. Before choosing C& C, be aware that they are unequipped—or unwilling—to send a physician when needed.
