The staff the agency set were ok. They were helpful and pleasant. They were not allowed to give medication. My husband is needing more PRN’s. I don’t plan on using this agency in the future. Although they were able to care for him, they are not allowed to do what I need

It could be exactly what we need for my mother in law but we aren’t there yet. I have never seen a report of what they have done while with her and she hasn’t had the same person twice which is hard for her (one receiving the care). Billing was a challenge in the beginning but they went out of their way to work with us on clarifying. I do recommend this service for families looking for assistance in caring for their loved one’s. I’ve even referred them to other family members of mine.

Since April, I have had 3 different caregivers. The current one is always late but I keep getting charged for 4 hours of care. I found her asleep on my couch, and I indicated that this was not appropriate.

This company has very reasonable rates but you get what you pay for. I have been a client for three months and in that time the care giver has only shown up half that time. When she does come she is amazing. She helps with all kinds of random things we need help with.

My mother had 24 hour care for dementia for a little over a year. We were never without coverage and the service was very helpful in working with my mother's long term care insurer. The rate for 24 hour care was very reasonable. The women who cared for her were qualified and were generally kind to her even though she could be very difficult as her condition progressed. The trade off is that I felt like there was not a lot of coordination from Hope and Recovery Care's management. Other than performing an initial assessment they did not come back to reassess her needs as her condition worsened, and I never saw a care plan for her. This worked out ok for us because I visited my mother a few times a week and regularly checked in with the care providers via text and phone. I also asked Hope and Recovery Care management to be informed whenever a new care provider was coming so that I could meet them and show them around. I am not sure how this service would work if you didn't have a loved one that lived in the area because managing her care took a fair amount of my time. A few of the caregivers commented that they were concerned that they were not informed of a care plan if one existed and that they thought more coordination was needed from Hope and Recovery Care's management.

The first time they were to come the caregiver had a flat tire then never did show up. The second caregiver arrived on time, was very sociable, and did a nice job, however he had worked a full shift and was asked to do this shift because the other person didn’t show up. The third person showed up on time, but didn’t do very good job of cleaning.

Instead of having the same person for the days I asked for I had 4. Different times the office had to fill in. During the time I had them, my diamond went missing, all I know is that it was never found. It could have been found and then “lost” again. The office didn’t take much notice of it. Anyway we parted ways. Right now I have a friend who is helping. But they have their own lives too.

While the care was high quality, the price was just as high. And, they DO NOT take insurance. I have no complaints other than just the price. I really like the one lady, and the 2nd one was not really appreciated. She didn't do anything.

Night person lied about what she did for my husband. The last night she was here, I had to get up and help him because she was sound asleep and stayed asleep! Day person was good, but related to night person so I wouldn't take a chance! The night time person has been let go by FirstLight.

My caregivers were excellent. They were caring and professional. The administrative staff were lacking in several areas, specifically with communication with me and follow through with my LTC insurance.

One caregivers was excellent. Two others did not do any personal care unless I asked them too. One stated that she was used to doing housekeeping for her previous client not personal care. Patient was totally bedridden & unable to verbalize. Those two were not properly trained. Agency didn't screen them for specialized care- just sent me an available "sitter* which I didn't need.

It took too long to schedule service before the help started. I felt deceived when asked for a void check. It wasn’t explained to me correctly. I never received an invoice before money was taken out of my Aunts Account. BC/BS said my aunt had a deductible of $[removed]. Home Instead should have sent me an invoice deductible the $[removed] deductible. That’s why they neve billed me. I think as soon as I told my aunt had passed they went into her account and took out what they wanted. I would not recommend them to anyone who had an ill family member or needed their services.

Your program is a good one, geared to the user rather than the agency. Your workers were friendly and helpful and with the exception of one worker, on time and available. The only negative thing was the fact your workers were not always available when I needed them.

The woman they sent to stay or I should say young lady hadn't worked with anybody and she just kind of sat there on the couch on the chair all day waiting for me to tell her what to do well I had just come home from surgery myself so I didn't know what to tell her I've never had somebody in my house for cleaning or helping out so and my husband ended up staying for a month but I had to use her because they said I paid for it. I'd signed a contract so anyway that's all I can say.

Be very careful, they ask for a big up front refundable deposit. When I quit using them, they only refunded part of it while trying to add another aide day, which never happened. They still owe the balance, which I have not received. Additionally, the aide they sent us was lazy & took very little initiative to help. Had to be told everything repeatedly..

We had trouble with some of the caregivers. Calling out or not doing their job as far as cleaning. They did not keep groceries in the house that was one of the things I wanted them to do. Did not make meals. So we left them and we went to Comfort Keepers. We've been through a few of them too. So [name removed] was depressed about that. She was kind of taking it personally because they couldn't find the right fit. But all and all, I would rate Griswold probably a three or four ; you know it's kind of hit and miss when you have strangers come to work for you.

The client has Alzheimer's and there have too many changes which makes it difficult to manage A lot of times a new person just appears at the front door with out any previous notification.

My friend using the service had several concerns from how payment was expected (by giving a bank account number) and the care he wanted was more specific short periods of time instead of longer blocks.

Always seem to have to juggle with caretakers. Price is high for what is provided. Dad needs mobility assistance and mom is companionship and assist with memory.

I was not happy with Amada . The first person that they sent had already given her resignation so she was only here for one day, then they sent another young lady and she only lasted three weeks and she resign due to health issues however she contacted me directly to tell me that it was regarding lack of pay and not enough hours.
