I have choosen Home Helpers. I think they are the best fit for what we need. The first time we meet with the Home Helper care giver was yesterday, and I feel that the meeting with my dad went very well. My dad seemed to be excited that she would be having lunch with him on Wednesdays.

This sounds like a great service. We may seek this type of service to keep Mom where she is currently living in Ohio.

There is a per mile charge if caregiver uses her vehicle for errands; but no mileage if using Mom's vehicle. Caregivers have auto ins, as well as co ins.

My wife has hired Comfort Keeper to come in he mom's apartment to clean twice a month. They will be there again on this Wed.

Mom and Dad are using the in home services provided by HomeInstead. Things seem to be working fine at present

The interview with the director went very well.

Staff was very informative however there were not enough employees in the local area to continue with this provider.

The business was good to work with. There was no facility to visit. They came to me for interviews. They were very friendly as far as scheduling home care, non medical. I wasn't happy with the quality of workers they were sending, foreign accents, i couldn't understand let alone the patient who is hard of hearing with Alzheimer's.

They're the only game in town and they know it. We've had some issues with them, and they've just been very defensive and inflexible.

We have had a few bad experiences and have not had any resolutions with them. I have referred some friends but with caution due to issues we have experienced.

It is an option, but it will be difficult to find a match for your loved one. This may be due to the different personalities of your loved one and the care giver themselves. The service offered was sitting with my loved one and engaging in conversation.

The owner is very kind supportive but there could be more follow-through. There were several really good caregivers but also a few that were not so great. I would have recommended them at first but as time went on I would not recommend this service.

If you're looking for someone to provide companion care and your need does not veer over into skilled nursing, it's worthy of consideration. If your need is more along the lines of skilled nursing, I would be cautious. I think I saw as much as I did because I was more involved. I think people distance themselves from the care once it's being provided and don't see what's actually going on. I would recommend that you keep all valuables, sensitive information, and medications secured in your home. I was disappointed that I didn't know who would be showing up each day. They couldn't provide a schedule for me because they had staff turnover, and some of the caregivers didn't like my mother with dementia. There were a lot of factors. So in my experience, they were average, not great. I had challenges with them, but I suspect I would have had challenges with any company. A lot of it revolved around caring for people with dementia. I felt they should have sent someone who had experience with that. People who have dementia have specific issues that manifest in different ways, and if the caregiver is going to be offended by that, maybe they need more training or need to choose something different to do. I know right now it's difficult to find help anywhere. Leadership in the company was great. One caregiver in particular was awesome. Another caregiver in particular was a little brutal, and didn't have any empathy for someone with a cognitive impairment. When I was considering changing companies, I found that they were about $10 an hour cheaper than other places I checked out. So if you're on a budget, the value is good. If you're looking for more companionship, I think they could be great. If you're trying to keep your loved one out of a nursing home, as was my situation, I wouldn't necessarily recommend them.

Make sure you get a caregiver with experience, Communication was good and they returned calls back quickly. They seemed to be understaffed but are trying to get additional caregivers. I would recommend this service if staffing was better.

We have had some issues with the care, they did get a little careless one time with my wife. But overall the staff have been friendly and they are on time and show up when they are scheduled to. I would recommend them to others looking.

It was important to me to find a caregiver that loved the work they were doing. To them it was not just a job that they went to everyday. They truly wanted to be of service to those they were caring for. Someone who would communicate with me and keep me informed on my mothers health and well being. Someone who was trained and certified in the assistance and care of Dementia and Alzheimer individuals. Most importantly someone my mother would adored and trust. It took some time to find the right caregiver that fit the expectations that I have. With Homewatch Caregivers of Tucson these expectations were found. My mother is so happy with her caregiver she refers to her as a wonderful daughter. I couldn't be happier myself knowing their bond is a good fit and my mothers care is by someone who truly wants to take good care of those they have come to love.

I really love this agency and the caregiver they sent us is really good. She comes right in and goes right to work. I never have to tell her what to do. [removed] also knows where everything is in the house and she also asks if she can help with household duties. The only downfall is that there have been a few times that she’s been late. Overall I would recommend this agency. She is well mannered, trained very well, keeps things picked up, and lets me know if my father’s health has changed.

We interviewed with Synergy Home Care -La Mesa. The owner was very professional and he did a good job explaining the type of care and services they could provide. They have a bigger company with about 80 employees. We ended up choosing a company that was a little smaller. We were concerned that we might get lost in the shuffle of a bigger company.
