The cost is certainly reasonable. The care is quite good. I'm really pleased with the lady that's doing it. I think the thing that I respect most highly is when she couldn't get somebody or someone was sick she did an excellent job of checking in with me and trying to find a replacement. We're still using them.

We've only had one caregiver, so it's good. It's kinda hard to say, I mean, I think she's okay but my parents are old school so there are differences. I can tell you, if you ask my dad he says it's not so good but he's stuck in his old ways and dealing with the loss of control. I think the care is fine, it's just the meeting of the minds that's not so good. The communication is excellent, it just takes time with a new person coming in. The suggestion would [removed] I've tried to express to the caregiver the way my parents are, so I think whoever is representing the caregivers or the family, the more communication you have with them the better. I'm really the mitigating factor between the both of them. I talk to my dad and then call them to say this is what he's saying. I try to calm my dad down when need be, I think if you let the caregivers know who they are it helps.

I thought they were very, very nice, I ended up only hiring weekend help through them only because it came down to whoever could get me the best people. The issue that I found and I don't know that it's them, I think it's just where we are but it was hard to necessarily find people that were appropriate for our situation. my mother in law has short term memory loss but that was her only issue, she doesn't require hands on care, she needs someone that can truly be a companion as opposed to a care taker or a watcher which is a different kind of person and those are hard to come by. She lives alone so it's not like we were hiring someone to come in while there are other people in the house, they have to be sharp enough to help her with the every day stuff, it's a different kind of job description. As a result it was hard and the only thing I would say and its really every agency, I wish they would truly pre screen the people before I go over and see them because the people that were coming in, it was obvious within minutes that it wasn't an appropriate candidate, other than that, dealing with them was a pleasure.

They could improve by not being so rigid in the hours they allow me to have. I used to have two hours in the evening and now I have a choice of either one or four hours. I pay more for the one hour than I did for two.

You have to allow time to get the right caregiver match. The first person they sent was such a poor match. She was friendly enough but she just didn't want to work. She didn't understand that mom had incontinence issues and things like that to deal with. She was one of these gals that was used to making sure they take their medications and maybe washing dishes but she wasn't into helping with laundry or vacuuming or incontinence. After that, Sarah, the next girl, has been great. She works hard when she's here. When they do have some down time she tries to get her to exercise a little bit. She works well with her and mom seems to like her. She had a hard time letting somebody come into the house to begin with but she's okay.

Nothing's really happening because of my parents, they don't want anybody to come into the house, sometimes they won't even open the door. But they've been good, it wasn't their fault. We had three different people come in, the first one didn't work out at all, the second 2 were very nice, very good people but my parents didn't want to bring somebody in and didn't think they needed help. My dad wanted it in the beginning but he's the kind of person where he doesn't want people telling him what to do. I think everything was all good, but ask a lot of questions upfront to find out what type of person your parents are, just have alot of questions up front to ask them if they're suitable so they can find the most suitable person for them, you have to find the right personalities.

We really like the owner. That's why we went with them and there was great communication with the owner too. I know it was a reasonable rate comparatively to other places but still expensive. That's just what it is - home care is expensive. I hesitate about the care because my mother had developed shingles during that time and the caregiver had just left her to sleep because that's what my mother wanted to do was lay down on the couch and take a nap. Later the neighbor came and my mom ended up going to the hospital and was there for quite some time so I hesitate about the care.

We were really happy with what they did for us, the only complaint I had was they didn't communicate all the time when they were going to have a change in caregivers. We only had them for 5 or 6 weeks and I only had one caregiver that was there the whole time so it seemed like they had a lot of turnover. The one caregiver we had the whole time, Trina, she was just something else. She's very young, probably early 30's and she and I talked the first day she was caring for my mother and she told me she felt she was born to do this, she really enjoyed her work. On her last day I was disappointed that Comfort Keepers didn't tell her it would be her last day because I wanted to say goodbye and she was very suprised that she wasn't going to work with my mother anymore, I thought she was going to cry. She had gotten attached to her in that short amount of time and I wish I could have taken her with me.

There's certain things that are really good, there's someone that you can call and then theres other things that aren't so good. It really depends on who you talk to, so if you get the right person, everything is taken care of immediately. I've been really at ease with the care giver that I have right now so its working. Its a process for any family getting used to soemthing new and them getting used to another client. i think that they're a business and they do their best. Some of the girls are fantastic and i've never had a really bad experience, its how different personalities work with each other. The hardest part, and the part they're lacking is phone communication, but that again depends on who you're speaking to.

The main care giver is great and very friendly there is a couple of care givers that are young and more on the quiet side but that is not a big deal. These type of services are on the expensive side but Synergy prices are comparable to other companies that provide the same services. Everything has been going great with Synergy.

Well the woman, Barbara, who came over to spend time with my wife, has only been here once but she's gotten off to a good start with her.

They're doing a good job taking care of my mother. They're here a couple of times a day, an hour or two at a time and they're always very friendly to her. I'm getting excellent service for the money.

It seems like the owner can't remember some of the things that are talked about. The services themselves are good and we are happy with them but it seems like owner could be a little more organized. Sometimes I will get multiple calls about the same issues asking the same information and that can get annoying especially when I am busy

Senior Helpers is working fine for my father right now and we are very happy. The sent an older gentleman to the house to keep my father company and he is happy. If our father is happy then so are we. The sending of an older person really made a huge difference and it provides them with something in common rather then a younger person. We are very pleased and would recommend Senior Helpers to anyone.

Spoke with Cindy. Small world. She worked with my mom for 20 years. She is scheduled to met with my Dad and I tuesday @ 930. 10 hrs per day 7 days a week. $19 per hour. Brother and I like this plan. Dad may prefer to go the Home route.

We found Affordable Senior Care when we were in desperate need. We had a horrible experience with another care giving service and contacted A Place For Mom who gave us two companies to check out. We chose Affordable Senior Care because we liked what they indicated their program was. We've had quite a bit of turnover, Affordable Senior Care is the fourth senior care company we've worked with, they seem to be caring. There have been a couple of weird things regarding follow ups. All of these agencies have programs that they present to potential clients, but it is kind of like a used car salesman, some parts they tell you are right, and some parts are wrong. It has been a wild ride, I will follow up with another review in a couple more months.

We have entered a contract with this agency and a new caregiver starts on May 6th at noon. We were told the individual is tall, strong and barely has an accent.

Visited 04/23/2013 - $6048.00 2 wk up front. Not used part refundable. No Credit Cards. Didn't seem as organized as Home Instead. Would probably do a good job.

Director was extremely accommodating when setting up initial services. Consistency of caregivers is key to the success of this for my grandmother and I hope that we will be able to settle in to a routine shortly.
