Distinctive Home Care has served my mother well. Erica, the home care provider, is on time and reliable. Over all service is good and I would recommend. I believe they are a little pricey for the service that my mom requires, which is very little. Erica prepares her breakfast and lunch and (very) light cleaning. They take a short daily walk (weather permitting) and then watches TV all day.

It’s so tailored and there’s no commitments or contracts. They let you change things on the fly so that it works out how you need it to. That it’s so very flexible is a huge benefit. We’re very new to the service, but so far it’s working out really well for us.

I was in a difficult situation where I needed help immediately. I was able to interview the company and arrange for care very quickly. My mom had many needs at the time so I was very worried about her care. However the caregivers did a great job and after I met them, I did not worry.

We have mostly had a good experience. Everyone has been very friendly. For the most part people have been pretty knowledgeable and good, but there were one or two people that weren't very good, they were maybe in over their head. In the beginning we had quite a few different people, but now that we have been using them for a little while, we get mostly the same people. It's worked out pretty well.

We used Senior Helpers as a fill in for when my loved one's fulltime caregiver was unavailable, and they've done a very good job. When we were using them full time we really liked the caregiver we had assigned to us. When we transitioned to only using Senior Helpers part time we unfortunately couldn't get regular caregivers from them, and had to use whoever they had available at the time, so the quality declined a bit. The office staff and owner at this service are amazing, however! They are great about communication, if they aren't available when you call them you'll get a call back within minutes, even nights and weekends.

We have had a wide range of knowledge and ability in caregivers. Once we found a compatible caregiver, she has been very consistent. Overall they have done a really good job. The owner was very approachable and right on top of things. Since this is home care the cleanliness and the activities do not apply.

It's going pretty good. I get the same person most of the time and they are friendly. They show up on time, and I don't have problems with them calling out or not showing up at all. They seem to be a pretty fair value. It seems to be working out. I can't think of anything that could be improved or done different.

My parents have been very pleased with the lady who comes twice a week. She's very professional , tidy, thorough, and friendly. She has relieved my mom of some responsibilities and given me peace of mind.

I think they do a fine job. They try to get a consistent caregiver but it has been taking some time, I would give them a three on that aspect. We have used other services and they are a good balance, and their caregivers are very caring which is the most important. *Activities and Cleanliness, do not apply for homecare.

My loved one was very reluctant to have people come in to her home to help, but they were very understanding and patient when working with her. They were also not reluctant to do what needed to be done when an emergency came up.

The people are great, in the begining we had some scheduling issues. There was one time someone came in some short, shorts and she wouldn't let her in the house, but everyone that has come has a little uniform. The girls care about my mom. We asked for them to call us if there was going to be a new caregiver because my mother would not let a stranger into her house. They did the first time but not the next time and that was frustrating and happened a couple of times. One person called the house and she didn't answer and they didn't follow through and let us know that my wasn't answering and the girl just left, she could have been laying in there dead. One time we changed the day and they got mixed up and instead of calling us, she just went home. The communication is not great. There was one girl my mom loved and she had some appointments and health issues and missed some days and she just quit because she didn't think that they would let her come back again so it seems like the caregivers don't seem to know what's going on within the company.

My mom is Diane Merlino. We started out a little rocky with Mary. Mary did a good job organizing but did not provide the emotional support that my mom needed. She was really concerned about the amount of sleep she was getting and told my mom "not to bother her" and took her whistle away. My mom developed night time anxiety for about 10 days after we discontinued Mary's services. She is now fine at night without family members there. Sandy is doing a wonderful job and my mom just loves her. She appreciates Sandy's hard work (and she is a good cook too!). Brenda and Ciera are the new night caregivers and they are both doing a great job. Michelle fills in twice a week and my mom says she is very sweet and really likes her as well. Overall, we are satisfied with the caregivers. They are all very nice and personable. The 12 hour shifts seem to be working better than the 24 hour shifts. Sandy is happier I think.

The service is ok, but I think the set up was complicated and not well-matched for my purposes. They provided extensive evaluation before service began and seemed geared toward providing nursing care rather than companion care. There were some communication break-downs which resulted from numerous people answering the phone and taking messages. They seemed caring, but were unable to provide consistent care from a minimum number of different caregivers for the time-span required.

I was impressed by my initial conversation with the owner, Mario. We had a long talk, and I really liked the vibe of the company, and the general knowledge and compassion that Mario showed. We really liked the first aide that was sent over, but unfortunately the aide had a dispute with the care service over payment, and a new aide had to be sent over. The second aide is also good and provides excellent care, but it is hard on Mom getting to know someone who then has to leave and meeting someone entirely new. The service overall has been very good, but that particular issue was hard on Mom. I do wish that the aides could drive, as all errands and supplies have to be done by me, despite the caregiver being 24 hours.

We had a great experience with Homewatch. They were patient and understanding.

Have used them for one 10-hour shift thus far. Everything went well, staffer was capable individual. Will use them more in the future.

They were good, I only used them once because I was going out of town and needed someone to stay with my father but they were good. Finding the one caregiver was easy and I would use them again if I needed to but the price per hour was very high, it was 16.50 and the other one I had worked with was cheaper.

There's a little confusion sometimes. I wanted to make sure that someone was able to take my mom to the store when she wanted to go and things like that and use her car and the first care giver did that and everything was fine. Then the next couple, all of a sudden, they don't do that. So I didn't get what i had in mind and she was a little disappointed and I don't want to see her disappointed because she's not too happy to have anyone in the house, besides me, in the first place. I don't want to give her a reason to be unhappy. I like the owner. He seemed very nice and has been very conscientious.
