Check to see if your payment goes through your bank. I didn't so by the time I checked about it, I was behind by a lot. I don't understand why they didn't contact me if they weren't being paid.

The support from this company is great. They always stay in touch. The shortage of skilled and suitable caregivers is the problem especially when we’re dealing with special needs. Not every caregiver is a perfect match and it’s hard for any company to fulfill that demand. Highly recommend this company!

Very much like the caregiver(s) we have had with this company. Very dependable and genuine. Have had a couple issues with billing but that has been resolved in a timely manner. Company is very knowledgeable on family members care and send individuals for the care we need.

They have been very responsive and helpful. We had a few “hiccups” and miscommunication in the beginning, but they have provided a wonderful service to our parents. [name removed] is great to work with. The side they have assigned to my parents is very thoughtful end goes above and beyond to help with their care. We appreciate everything she does for them. We have been happy with Evergreen’s service.

It has taken a few tries to find a good match in caregivers but [name removed] at Home Instead has stayed engaged and responsive with my parents. They helped my parents with their Long Term Care claim which is now paying part of the home care cost. I do appreciate their help.

Caretakers [name removed] and her daughter [name removed] were the best with my mom. They treated her with compassion and patience.

We had one caregiver who was very dependable and showed up all the time. The fill in staff called out a lot. My MIL needed diaper changes and more care than I think some of the staff were used to providing. We also had hospice who bathed / showered her. I don't think the staff there would have been able to handle putting her in the shower. One Caregiver [name removed] was the only one that did any light housekeeping, cleaned bathroom etc... The other staff did none of that. The staff was very nice. Without someone in my home, I could not leave so I appreciate the service of someone being here. It was the only way I could go to work, so if someone called out, it did cause a problem. The staff were friendly and always responded to our concerns. 90% of the time, the staff were dependable. They provide assistance to patients who do not need a lot of skill, but minimal assistance with ADL. It was the only way our family could leave the house, so the service was appreciated.

To tell you the truth we only had 4 hours of care 2xs a week. We only had service till end of February... then to the hospital and hospice since beginning March...rarely did we have the same caregiver... they never had to feed him was just bedridden care or bedside commode, diaper change...they were very friendly ...used them only 8 hours a week... Every time there was a new person we had to had reorient them... overall good experience!! And [name removed] was very caring as well!

I would like to have help with making meals. The guest lady was great at that but she was extremely high energy and made my Mother nervous. The team at Homestead quickly found a better fit who is calm, does puzzles with her, watches her shows, helps with laundry, takes her for walks, etc.

I'd say it was fine. Some of the girls weren't trained as well in moving an elderly person who doesn't help. She was sent to ER once. We were not notified 911 was called. Also [name removed] had to help to transport her back into house when she was sent home. She asked but no one came.

We have cameras in dad's home and there was one caregiver who sat at his kitchen table on his phone and didn't lift a finger. He only stayed for 2 instead of 3 hours. When I asked my dad about him, my dad never knew he came. He didn't see him there bc the man stayed in the kitchen and never introduced himself to my dad. When I complained, 1st Light was quick to tell me he'll never come back and we worked out a financial credit. Otherwise, my over all experience has been great with them! They're quick to respond and helpful! When I go over to dad's house, I notice the kitchen mostly and it's clean. I know they do his laundry, too. The staff, whoever is there, is always very friendly! The quality of care has been good! I just wish they'd interact with him a little more but I understand, he is a man of few words and not easy to talk to because he doesn't share a lot of information, unless you ask him about the Cubs or the Bears. Once I asked, they've been good about pushing food on him. He needs to be pushed to eat. I wish they could get dad to move more. He needs to be walking to get stronger, even if just to the end of the driveway and back. I'm very pleased with the amount of services First Light provides. [name removed] our advocate nurse has been fabulous, too! [name removed] is wonderful, [name removed] does a very nice job! Desiree was fabulous, although she no longer works with Dad.

They always got someone here, even in icy weather. Everyone was friendly and polite and took suggestions we'll. A few caregivers weren't well enough trained to care for someone in bed all the time: turning, skin care, etc. Home Instead is a great service.

At the beginning they had some staff turnover. We finally got the same caregiver for everyday. We have instructions that most are followed but have to remind them once in a while. They work awesome with changing caregivers if there is any issues.

On caregivers, expect very young women for the most part, which can equal lack of communication skills (meaning, many of them didn't have much to say to us, or to mom). Some of them had a hard time "just sitting" with mom, wanting instead (it seems) to have an itinerary to which to stick. Our mom is a quiet, introspective woman who isn't going to direct a caregiver's day. On the owners: a company name change came out of the blue, as did the firing of our contact person [name removed]. Once, they wanted to meet and evaluate a caregiver in our home, which is unacceptable to us. They should conduct their business in their place of business. Finally, charging us for less than 48-hours notice when we need to cancel feels like theft.

It's a great place.

[name removed] is kind, supportive and helpful. He genuinely cares about his clients and their family needs. Communication between owners and caregivers could be improved upon (intake information should be passed to caregivers so they are not in the dark), but follow up is always great. It is about the needs of the client first, and that is extremely appreciated.

I would recommend they give them a try. Both (the last caregiver) and [name removed]were caring, knowledgeable and very experienced in the care of Alzheimer's patients.

Only used home care. But very friendly and my husband was very happy.

I would recommend Home Helpers. The owner, [name removed], is so kind and helpful. My two helpers are awesome and have become like family to us. My sweet mom passed away end of April and we continue using a helper for my Dad.

The reason for the 4 is the caregiver was young, and didn't cook. So she would always ask me if she could go get food here or there, so it was ok. She was a gentle young woman. I would say that it would be nice if someone could do some light cooking,making coffee tee toast. I believe there was a generational gap. I also believe the company was honest. In addition I would have liked to meet the caregivers, maybe that is impractical.
