They are affordable and they care. I would recommend to others.

Picked because they accept Medicaid so if he runs out of money he can apply to stay.I probably would have pursued other avenues.

Staff is caring, but plagued with turnover. Dining is ok, but size of the facility is limited. Nurses are excellent. Billing is sometimes off after re-assessments. We feel confident mom gets the care she needs.

I think Brookdale was a great place for my Dad. The staff is great, but like most places they're understaffed so some things could be improved. I was disappointed in the fact that the monthly payment increased $[removed] in one year.

The staff are wonderful and caring, except for the physical therapy people, who don't want to deal with memory care residents, or don't know how to handle them! The food is acceptable and the activities can keep you busy. The quality of care for me is basically acceptable. The doctor comes once a week, two RNs, two LPn, and the rest are CNAs!

They're so friendly and welcoming. It has a homey feel. The staff care. It does look a bit tired although they are trying to do some up dates. If you want to feel at home I would recommend it. If you are looking for finer living I would look elsewhere. It was really the feel mom got from the residents and staff that sold us on Brookdale. She felt wanted and welcome. It was father away, less convenient and the amenities were not as nice but it just had what I stated before and that was the most important thing.

We've had a good experience with Brookdale Harrisburg. But there was a lot of confusion when we moved my parents in with paperwork and payments. I'd strongly suggest making copies of any forms you fill out.

We chose this facility because of the military discount. They also provide all levels of care. The kitchen staff seems to be short handed. Overall it is a positive experience. I would recommend Brookdale Skyline.

[name removed] head a hard time adjusting to her new environment and constantly packed her belongings in attempts to go back to where she was before and was almost combative at times in attempts to leave. She finally is doing better in her confused state. Unfortunately she forgets to use assistive devices and falls frequently. She is on hospice as she has lost a lot of weight. The staff has been very nice to work with and keeps me informed of how [name removed] is doing.

They are very helpful and seem happy with what they do. It has only been a short period of time, but so far I think I would probably recommend them to others.

Small, intimate and feel comfortable knowing what's going on with the facility/employees and other residents- I love the smaller and personal aspect of Brookdale in Colonial Heights. Staff was super friendly and personable. The size of the facility was perfect for our situation. Parking is horrible if busy or raining and you have to take your loved one out of facility

The facility is affordable. The location is in a really tough neighborhood. Security is good. Food is above average.

The employees ate very friendly and they do whatever is necessary to help. I’m very impressed with the staff. The one (and major!) drawback is the food. It’s almost inedible to the point I buy Ready to Eat food at the supermarket. We pay thousands of dollars every month and the food should be excellent They say it’s going to get better, but those who have lived here longer than I say that’s what they’ve been told, too. The facilities are nice but not plush, which is fine with me. I don’t need a home that’s luxurious. The main thing is the people, and that’s a big plus here. I haven’t met anyone yet who isn’t helpful and friendly.

The center is beautiful, decorated for each holiday. The main entrance looks like a small village with an area to sit and eat with your loved one. The inner center is locked with a button to enter and exit. It’s clean and welcoming common space, has many areas inside and out to enjoy your visit. The staff are so friendly and happy. They have made our transition very pleasant. We visit often and always feel welcome. My father in law is always clean and happy. His private room is clean and comfortable. We all feel like we found a wonderful home for our dad.

There is consistent and friendly staff. Activities are done weekly to keep residents active both on and off of the premises. Celebrations are done to encourage family engagement. A support group is offered to families. At times, the staff is shorthanded.

The staff is very responsive and friendly.

It is apparent they genuinely care about their residents. They strive to meet all of their needs: physical, emotional, and social. Offering options for most meals would be helpful.

My mother moved in last year and I feel that she is in a great place! They were so kind and helpful when we had to move my mother to a smaller apartment after my sister passed away suddenly. The staff is very nice and very kind to the residents . I would however like to see them have the tree's trimmed as there are a lot of dead falling branches that are a safety concern. Also the kitchen could do a better job of keeping popular items such as tea and bread and milk stocked. It seems they are are always out of something! But the bottom line is I don't think we could have found a better place for the price !!!

It's been generally positive. There have been some challenges with communication, but the overall care and appropriateness of the facility for the needs of my uncle have been good.I would recommend Brookdale in West Orange, if it fits the criteria for the kind of care and living arrangements you are searching for yourself or a loved one.

It's way better for the resident if you can visit fairly often (weekly? I'm there almost daily) and get to know the staff somewhat. Then, they can get to know the resident better via your experiences to help with their care (examples: my Mom does not have dentures, so don't give her salads or sandwiches)
