Brookdale

We were looking for a safe, clean and friendly environment for my mom after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and visited several assisted living facilities in the area. We found that most offered the same or similar levels of cleanliness, care services and activities. Costs were similar, some a little more, some a little less but what set Brookdale Sugar Land apart was their staff and how friendly, understanding and engaging they are. It was our top choice and when my mom said she liked it the best, it was a no brainer. She has been living there a week now and everything we have seen and experienced has confirmed that we made the right decisions (to move mom to assisted living and to move her to Brookdale Sugar Land).

This community is very clean and well maintained. Mom seems to like the food. They do offer a few choices, however I think they could use a little more variety. They offer daily activities. The staff are wonderful and I would recommend this community.

Brookdale gets a 5 star rating in all respects! Mom needed a warm inviting assisting living facility with personnel who were ready to make her stay filled with caring and considerate individuals. Personnel greet Mom and my family with genuine interest. They come to Mom's room to ask if she wishes to participate in the scheduled activity. A calendar is provided for her and the general public to see what activities are provided for the whole month. A resident could be involved with socialization activities that engage the body and soul from 8 AM to 6:30 PM. daily. Mom finally is getting the socialization she has missed the last few years while living alone. Mom's apartment is a studio style that offers her convenience of a small apartment, but without the upkeep. Garbage is picked up daily. Light cleaning is done when necessary. Laundry service is included. Other apartment sizes are offered. One must not forget to mention that pets are welcome to stay with residents. A variety of rooms provide varying services for the residents. An activity room lends itself as a library, place for crafts, exercise room, and religious services. The dining room has a formal atmosphere and each meal is of the highest nutritious quality allowing for alternatives if a resident makes a request. The facility provides grounds where residents can try their gardening skills if they so desire. Brookdale is spacious providing lounging rooms where residents can enjoy the company of fellow residents, sit peacefully alone, be with family, or watch a movie. All public rooms provide comfortable lounging furniture with soothing colors that invite you to want to stay a while. One must not forget the beautiful gas fireplaces that are in the dining room and adjoining lounge. Mom is so fortunate to be living in such a wonderful facility that fits her budget. We couldn't ask for anything more!

The community is very clean it feels like you are walking into a nice hotel. They are quick to keep up with the cleaning. The food seems healthy and it is ok, however I think it could be improved a little. The staff are very helpful and are good at helping to make my parents feel comfortable. The staff seem to enjoy their jobs and it shows. They are open to suggestions and they listen to my concerns and what I have to say. I would recommend this community.

My mom is now in the memory care unit since there were not enough nurses to care for her in assisted living. The staff is very friendly and helpful but if your parent is not completely self sufficient (does not need coaxing for meds, showering, escort to meals or activities) you will be charged for every single thing they do, bit by bit by bit. Memory care is more expensive but all inclusive. We were too rushed in this important decision and got ourselves feeling cornered to make a quick move. I really think my mom will be happy and well taken care of but I would want to do more research.

While my loved one was at the Brookdale, they did a good job but it did not work out for him. He is no longer at the Brookdale but we would recommend them to anyone looking.

We liked the Brookdale a lot. It was better than the community that we chose but what we did not like was the location. Had it not been for that reason, my loved one would have chosen this community. The tour guide was very good, they gave us a lot of information answered all of our questions.

My grandfather is enjoying his move because he is now closer to where I live and I can visit him more often. The community is very clean and nice, we have not found anything that needs improvement yet. He likes his room and the change of scenery from the community he as at prior.

Follow up was terrific from A Place for Mom to make sure we were finding the right people to talk to. They connected us with Brookdale in Apopka and we just moved our dad in to this senior living center.

The food at this community seems to be good. The staff are more than attentive and check on mom often. They offer daily activities including puzzles. They offer a locked down memory care unit. The community is clean. Mom is content, happy and has made some friends. This is a nicely priced community and I would recommend it.

We toured this community when looking for my brother. It was nice with a friendly staff but it was very expensive.

My mother is doing alright at the Brookdale Lake Tavares. The community is nice and from what I can see, the staff treats her well, but she is having a hard time adjusting. I am hoping with time she will grow to like it.

We are very satisfied with the Brookdale Richland Hills because they have been treating my husband well. The place is clean and the building is maintained very well, everything is in good shape. I have been offered to have their meals but have not tried them, my husband says they are very good.

I highly recommend the Brookdale Littleton because they have treated my mother so well. My mother's favorite things about it are the meals, and how loving and caring all of the staff have been towards her. It has been a good experience so far.

We have found the staff at Brookdale very helpful through a difficult illness. They are kind and understanding.

My tour of the Brookdale South Bay went very well. The lady that I met with gave me a lot of helpful information as well as answering all of my questions. This community would be great for anyone, but it was not as close to my home as other ones that I toured.

Just ask and questions are answered and issues addressed immediately. I love that

We looked a numerous Senior Living facilities and really loved the atmosphere, the cleanliness and the outgoing personalities of the staff. It is definitely a four-star fracility.

My friend resides at this facility and I visit often. The staff is always friendly and inviting. The rooms and facility are clean and no odors are present. I was able to participate in dining and musical activity. The food was good and offered many choices. The staff seem to be involved in many jobs and the same people can be seen in the dining room, doing the laundry and giving care. I would recommend this facility for others.

I can't say enough about Brookdale Florence! The staff is friendly, attentive and professional. The atmosphere is that of a home, not a center. The facility is beautiful and clean, yet there is no institutional smell or feel. Top it off with fabulous food and activities and you have a winner!
