Brookdale

It's extremely well run. The cleanliness is extremely clean. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Transportation always on time. My mom never complains about maintenance. They are always on top of maintenance; they fix things promptly. I'm kind of questioning the documentation. A new nurse, who was by herself. My mother is being watched for certain things. I asked when is the last time my mom used the bathroom, and she didn't know. This is important because she is diabetic, and has issues with constipation. If I come at night when I don't expect it. Another example is how is her eating habits. No documentation. How much is she eating, what amounts. She is diabetic. They have loads of activities to do; they keep them very active; nightly activities and outings. They also provide transportation to doctors and shopping. She complains a little about food quality. For instance, she had a ham and cheese sandwich for dinner for two nights. She thinks that the rooms are a little bit small. Bedroom is brighter than the living room. They have studios. The living room is smaller than the living room, and darker. My mother switched everything around. It was really a journey to find a place for my mom. It had the smallest rooms of any place we looked at, but it was more important that they allow animals. Medical staff always make rounds and always check on my mom. One thing that concerns me is that the only means for my mother to send for help if she needed it, is a pull string on the wall in each room. Maintenance is great, and they just remodeled. Everything is up to date. The facility smells clean. I know my mother is cared for, clean, people are looking out for her. I like it that they are very mindful of procedures to protect the residents. I also like the sense of community there. In general, it is the best place all considered. She gets dialysis three times a week; this is the only place that does that.

Wonderful place to take your loved one that needs daily assistance. The staff are very friendly and the management in the front are very helpful and have done everything possible to assure my mom is taken care of. I looked and bigger and nicer communities like Franklin Park and am very glad I made the decision I made. Thank you all for everything you have done to make this transition better than I could have ever imagined.

I'm very happy with how things have gone at Emeritus at Canterbury Woods! It's a nice looking facility, they keep it very clean, and I feel like it is just the right size for my loved one. Not big enough to be overwhelming, but not so small that it doesn't have anything going on. I also like that there always seems to be someone around checking in on her. It is a nice, quiet, pleasant community, and I feel like she is fitting in well here.

Things have gone very well The Grand Court of Farmington Hills so far! It's a nice looking, well kept place and everyone has been very very friendly! Since the moment we set foot in the building on our first tour we've seen nothing but smiling faces on the staff, and they're always happy to help! I would definitely recommend them, it's been a great experience.

Very happy with the attention and care given to my relative residing at this facility when an accidental fall happened. Staff was very friendly and helpful from day one. When touring facility residents voluntarily offered their opinion that they were happy with the facility. Would recommend to others.

I think they do a great job at Sterling House of Texarkana. The management seem like wonderful Christian people. They are very personable, and go out of their way to make sure that each and every resident feels attended to and important. I highly recommend them!

My husband was in this facility for a year, and it was wonderful for him. It was small enough that everyone knew everyone else, yet large enough to get to know someone better. The staff is exceptionally caring and helpful, always ready to go out of their way to help any resident and to make the resident's life easier. Each staff member knows every resident not just by name, but by what his or her needs are. The facility is always clean, and the rooms are a very good size compared to other facilities. There is a nice variety of activities, and if a resident wants something different, they will make it happen. I cannot say enough good things about how well they cared for my husband.

It's going well, my loved one is happy and content. It's a very clean place and the people are friendly and attentive. Any issues have been addressed promptly. Every time I ask I am told that they are happy with the food. They have a lot of activity offerings but they could do a little more to get the residents engaged. I haven't come across any real concerns or problems here at all.

We're very pleased with how things have gone with Sterling House of Englewood. It is a clean, well kept, nice looking place, and the staff have all been very friendly. They seem to take a genuine interest in the happiness and well-being of their residents. So many of these places are just warehouses for the elderly, but at Sterling House you can tell they really care. They also do an excellent job with the food here, my aunt loves it!

My mother has yet to move into Emeritus at Wekiwa Springs, she will be moving in at the end of the month, but the staff was very helpful and friendly. The facility was clean and everyone was active which was a big plus for choosing this facility.

I love it, they are doing great job. She is real happy, and that is the most important thing. She doesn't ask to go home anymore, and she tells me that it's a very nice place when I ask what she thinks. We haven't had any concerns. It's really clean, and the employees are real nice.

Carolina House of Chapel Hill: I'm very pleased with the staff. Staff is very nice, helpful, and engaging. They care about the well being of the residents. They have been very complimentary to my mom. The facility is very nice, and the room as well. They were very accommodating and provided us with furniture in our difficult situation. The business manager was always available for my questions. My mom has been happy with the accommodations, and activities they offer. I would recommend Carolina House to other families.

They are doing very well. It's very clean there. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. There could be more activities, they are trying to change things and add things on. I love that place, and some places are too social, but a little more social would be good. The food is very bland, other than that they like the variety and the quality of the food. A little gravy or sauce on the rice would be good, it just needs a little oomph. There really isn't anything that needs to be improved or done better, other than that.

Our experience with Brookdale Place has been a good one. They were very helpful throughout the whole selection and move-in process. They introduced themselves well to Mom, they brought all the staff around to greet her and to make sure she felt at home. They also made sure they had appropriate staff on hand to answer any questions we had about the whole process, which I appreciated.

Things have gone well with Homewood Residence! They were extremely helpful throughout the whole transition process, and have been very friendly and professional throughout the whole experience. They do a good job keeping everything clean, and I've also been impressed with the quality of the food they serve.

Very nice place. Everything I saw was fresh and new. They offer a variety of room choices. It was very much like the Atria facility my parents were in. Very nice dining room. Memory Care rooms had a bathroom and shower. The MC was separate from the ALF and secure but residents can visit each other. Around $5000 made it my choice for my parents.
