Brookdale

My father has been at Brookdale New Hope over 3 years. The appearance of this place pretty on the outside and hallways are kept clean but they do not keep the rooms clean on the inside. My father had a small cut on his leg and blood got on the carpet and the staff never attempted to clean it up. He fell on [Date removed] and was not attended to when he needed help going to the bathroom when you pull the Help string you always are waiting for assistance. Staff has poor rating, when a person needs Help you are Ok if you don't need help. I also think they were over medicating. my Dad after his fall on pain meds. He later died in the hospital on [Date removed]

My Dad was a resident here for 2 years. The staff were tentative and would always call me with any concerns. I know he enjoyed happy hour and the card games they would play. Overall, a good experience.

It was tough to leave me home, but well worth the move. I enjoy all the compliments I receive on my plants and holiday decorations. The staff are always willing to lend a helping hand. It's nice to not have to worry anymore.

My wife and I liked the community. Saw large studio (workable) and small 1 bedroom (liked it). Meals included - meal selection seemed great, but nothing to compare it to yet. They said they stay at or close to full occupancy. Was impressed that they found a corner in the activities room for a new resident's equipment (he was making a violin). Planning to go back with my mother for a visit once I have visited some other places. They do not have assisted living, but do offer some scheduled, "assisted living"-type services on an "a la carte" basis.

There was allot of laughing going on, and they seemed to enjoy themselves. The seniors we spoke to are happy. We learned about potential benefits thru the VA, which no one had shared with us before. The experience was great and she found a solution to help our family, which we appreciate. Different experience from the other places we toured.

Community has had a major uptick in renovations. Looks better than what it did and has become part of the surrounding community. They offer many different options for your loved one. The best thing to do is to do a visit and see if it works for you and your family. Every place is different but this is one of a kind.

I really liked the staff here. The residents appeared well cared for and busy. Really had a nice home feel. [name removed] was wonderful. The facility was clean and well maintained. I liked the fact that they only do memory care.

My parents have lived at Brookdale for 6 months, and we are all extremely happy with this beautiful residence. Within the first few days, all the employees knew their names, and they had many opportunities to meet other residents. They enjoy the many activities and outings and also the beautiful spaces within Brookdale. But the best part about Brookdale are the people who work there. From the front desk, to the nurses, to the aides, kitchen employees, and everyone else, including the director and most especially the activities directors, we love them all. We highly recommend looking into Brookdale if you have a loved one who is in need of assisted living. We are so very glad we did!

If you can't live at home, it's the next best thing. I love my apartment and the fact that you can decorate the outside too. A studio is all the room a single person needs. The staff is very helpful and always check to see how I'm doing. I enjoy going to the movies every night and being a member of the movie committee.

My mom enjoyed her time living at the community. Her room was spacious and even had a full size kitchen. The community was very active, especially on their theme nights. I never had to worry while she was living there, the staff always looked out for my mom. Thanks for everything!

I liked what I saw. I especially liked what the residents who live there had to say. Actions speak louder than words and it seems the residents feel they are well cared for and are listened to. Didn't get to try the food.

Great place to live! Great First Impression Friendly staff So happy we moved my mom in!

Wonderful facility that is really made perfect by the staff. My Grandpa has always talked about how great his time with the helpers is and how Natalie has always been a delight in particular. Would recommend to anybody 100%

Very nice place! It has the cosier homie feel and the staff was very attentive. This is the place we picked for my Mom.

We really liked this facility. It will definitely be one to show our Aunt. We were early, so sat in the lobby for a while, and observed. This is really a good thing to do, as you get a feel for the atmosphere. We like the way the facility is maintained and the supportive, nurturing manner of the employees as they dealt with the residents.

Our family is very happy with Brookdale Port Charlotte. Mom has lived here for a number of years, and is aging. The management team is consistent in their vision. Even with new caregivers; they strive to employee only the most compassionate people, who put the residents above all. The managers aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and lead by example. Dignity is very important to my mom, and this team is vigilant; never giving up on her and that’s what makes this community one of a kind!
