Brookdale

Putting aside the whole pandemic, they have just been fantastic. They are always keeping us informed with positive cases, how many they have and what the protocols are. We think they have just been really excellent and that they seem very attentive to our loved one. It is beautiful inside, the cleanliness of the community is impeccable we have seen no imperfections. They do whatever our loved one needs or any special requests for our family. They really do take good care of our loved one. They are very kind and even before our loved one moved in they came to his house to grab some of his things to help make the move easier. Our loved one is the pickiest person in the world so he is never fully satisfied and does not have a broad pallet but we do know they serve very healthy and nutritious food. We just have nothing but good things to say about the staff members.

Know that you have to have the money. It's not cheap. They do charge, but they give you plenty for what they charge for. The building itself is marvelous. I hear practically no sounds ever. It's really quite a community here. They quality of anything I've experienced with them has been well above average. The food is a hard one. They're going to have meals that I enjoy, and they're going to have meals I don't particularly care for. But they do give you options. The meals tend to be well planned, but I tend to be a typical American eater and prefer things that may not be so good for me. Overall they really do a great job here. They have a lot of activities available, with lots of opportunities throughout the month. I'm just not as interested in them. The staff are pretty sharp. A whole lot of them call me by my first name when they see me. It's quite an organization - I've not experienced anything like this before living in standard rentals. They have help and support available for you here if you need it. I didn't realize some of the things that I needed that I'm getting here. I'm lucky to have found a good place, and I'm very happy here.

The tour was excellent. They had a greeting sign at the door welcoming me to Brookdale. A wonderful and helpful tour Guide, [name removed]. Very helpful and answered a ton of questions. Residents were friendly and place was perfect

The value is good and for the most part it is very clean. We were impressed with the fact that there was no covid outbreaks. They have been very good about communicating with any changes, events and keeping us up to date with covid and other fun things. It is also just very cozy feeling.

I am moving to this communtiy.

I had a great tour of the facility. Staff was well informed and friendly, and I am looking forward to moving in.

[name removed] was very helpful! I learned about Brookdale through a Zoom visit with her. The community offers everything I was looking for and more. They pricing is fair for what you get. She even gave me info for a moving company.

I have not moved in here yet, but I think it is going to be 5 stars. The staff members were very helpful when I was looking aorund.

This was a great place for my loved one for their independence. It was convenient and accessible for my loved one. They had elevators for the residents to use. The set up was well. They even had a library for the residents. They had a little store that carried the basic if needed.

Our family had a porch tour with this community and it was a very nice facility. We were able to step inside and we did think it was a very nice facility, but we chose a different community just based on location and which one was closest to our family.

First off, the staff are wonderful. They're delightful, very professional, and very caring. I don't get to visit every day, and I know they're watching out for my loved one. She is hard of hearing, so she's not sure if the residents are responding to her hellos or not. They seem to be a little cliquey, but she's only been there a few months. It's a pet friendly community, and she loves seeing the different pets when she's out and about walking. Another thing I think is terrific is they have a physician who is there once a week and available for appointments. They also bring in a podiatrist. My loved one loves the food. She says it tastes good, and is the right portion size for senior citizens. One of the reasons she chose Brookdale was because she wasn't ready to give up cooking altogether, and she has a full kitchen in her apartment. She fixes her own breakfast and lunch, but she does have her dinners delivered to her. With Covid, they've had some limitations on activities, but they're definitely trying. The director of activities sends out notifications on what they're offering. I've seen from the lobby there's a group that enjoys playing Wii bowling. I feel like it's an outstanding value at Brookdale Santa Catalina.

They were above and beyond in helping us. They made a good first impression. This just wasn't the right fit for my loved one. They even having fishing for the residents to participate in a creek on site.

Our loved one was a picky eater but she always ate every meal and for the most part the activities were shut down due to covid. We believe they did everything they could at the time to keep them safe under the circumstances. Our loved ones vision was impaired so having window visits and zoom chats would make her confused. So they allowed our family to go through a specific entrance, get our temperatures taken, wear masks and gloves and go stand outside our loved ones room. They were very accommodating with us, and the director of the facility was always in constant communication with us. Keeping us informed throughout this entire process which really helped us out.

My mom has been in the Brookdale Family for many years. Specifically at Brookdale white Rock for over 5 years. The staff has always had moms best interest at heart and has shown compassion and caring as my mom has diminished in cognition over the years. The facility is clean and well kept. The activities always include mom even though she cannot always actively participate. If mom ever has an issue like sliding out of her chair or developing a sore, I am always called and informed of the situation. Covid-19 brought many challenges and the staff at Brookdale White Rock met each one with integrity and enthusiasm. They bent over backwards to make sure that the needs of my mom and the family were satisfied as much as possible. I highly recommend Brookdale White Rock for your loved ones too.

We toured this community and it was very nice. The pricing was just to high for us.

Beautiful property. Amazing staff. Greeted right at the door by receptionist, Sales and Business Manager. Property was clean, staff was friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Rooms were clean. Was able to speak to a few residence and they all seemed very happy. Grounds were clean. Kitchen was closed but it was a lovely dining room. Overall 2nd choice.

Keep communication open. They've been pretty good at communicating, and if you need information, just contact them. Sometimes they're a little slow getting back to you, especially this past year with everything going on. But they're definitely responsive. I've found that phone calls are better than emails. Everyone is very involved, including the director and the marketing director. It's all hands on deck. They send me photos of my loved one. The care that they've given through Covid has been very efficient, and if there's a problem, they seem to be on top of it. They seem to handle dealing with the moodiness and defiance related to dementia very well. It's good to know that my loved one is safe and secure. He's being fed, having medication administered, and it's been a tremendous relief to have him in a comfortable place. It's a small setting, so it's manageable for him and not overwhelming like a large place could be. I would like to see some improvement in communication between their medical nursing staff and his VA medical staff, who come on site to supplement his care. The care is excellent - the care is there on both sides. I just wish they communicated a little better with one another.

We chose Brookdale because my grandmother was at a Brookdale owned facility and we really liked it, so we felt it would be a good fit. The apartment sizes are good as well as the value for the money. It is centrally located for family which is nice and close to doctors, shopping, grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. I would highly recommend to others looking.

They take great care of the residents. Be aware though that it is for people with Alzheimer's or dementia. It's hard to say if there's any special things they're doing for memory care, since I wasn't able to go inside due to COVID. I think the staff did an excellent job communicating with me about my loved one's care. But I'm also a proactive person. So between me contacting them and them contacting me, I always had valid, up-to-date information. Everything looked clean from what I could see - again, I couldn't go inside due to COVID. Activities were also affected by COVID. They used to take them out to eat and things like that. But they had to limit activities to inside the facility, and there's only so much you can do with that.
