Brookdale

I really like [name removed] our tour director. She was very informative and kind. The facility is older therefore not the new, spacial feel but because they have been around for a while they seem to know how to make it work best for Alzheimers and Dementia patients.

[name removed] took me on a tour of the assisted living area. She was very caring and thorough. She listened to my needs and was able to answer all of my questions. My mother has some needs beyond what is usually considered assisted living. Mary Beth was able to find solutions and so my mom will be moving in as soon as possible. I can confidently recommend visiting this community in your search for assisted living. I would predict that the independent living part of the facility is just as wonderful.

Brookdale has really stepped up in nursing, dining, activities and overall concern for taking care of our loved one. I feel very confident in this facility and the team at Brookdale Findlay for providing this service.

We chose Brookdale Salem because they allowed my mom to bring her cat, there was good feedback on communication, and there was a spin down option with medicaid so if she runs out of assets she will be able to stay. The staff members have been very helpful and upfront with me. I get an activities schedule so I know that they have a lot of things going on for the residents. They are very good about calling you to let you know what is going on with your loved one. I would definitely recommend to others looking.

They are just amazing out here and we are so happy with Brookdale. It is very private, a smaller facility with more individualized care, the communication has been the #1 blessing from the staff members. They are very professional and very compassionate. The facility is pet friendly. The apartments are great, access to the facility is awesome, and they provide so many activities for the residents to participate in. I would highly recommend to others who are looking and already have.

Brookdale Willows has been great, the staff are very knowledgeable especially with things regarding our loved one. Our loved one is actually eating so we have to assume the meals are very good. The activities are opening back up now that everyone is getting vaccinated and we do think the value for cost is awesome.

I originally chose this facility for my mom mainly for the Claire Bridge Program that keeps the residents engaged with each other and keeps them alert and positive. I was impressed more so, with the level of family inclusion, meaning the staffs professionalism, treating the residents as their own families with such care and compassion. The facility is just the right size to where the staff get to know the residents families and family's stories and even know their names. There were other facilities closer to my home but I chose this one and am extremely satisfied and would highly recommend this Brookdale-Nacogdoches to other families that have love ones with Dementia/Alzheimer's.

We have a winner!!! Ratio is 3 to 1. Small facility that is inside an historic home. Memory care is on bottom floor with access to a small courtyard. They have 16 residents now with a max of 18. Cost is $5400/ mo plus evaluated care (usually around $1500, ours would be about $3700/mo) Community fee is $2k. Rooms on smaller side but have room for a queen bed and dressers, couch or recliner and table. Showers are 2/wk included. Unlimited showers are extra. They train with Teepa Snow instructions and have monthly zoom support/training with families. Dr. on staff 5 days a week. Can do activities with AL residents (40ish) upstairs. Staff has been there for a long time, in general. Sales = 3 years, ED is new but came from Mackenzie Place, Janitor = 18 yrs, Activity Dir = 5 yrs? Mini fridge and sink provided Dr can order PT or OT as needed. or PRN for headaches, etc.

Brookdale Tramway Ridge is an excellent place, especially for loved ones who have dementia. It is a gated community which is safe, and so far we are very pleased with them.

Everybody is friendly. I like the set up of my room. Bingo with friends is fun.

My 98 year old mother was in Brookdale Fairhaven after a hospital stay. The staff was great giving her needed care gaining weight and making transition. I liked the fact it was a small facility and I felt she was looked after very well since I live out of town. The staff always updated me on her situation. Thanks to Brookdale staff.

The staff are very friendly. The location truly couldn't be better. It's right in the middle of downtown Oak Park, with close proximity to restaurants, movie theaters, and hospitals. I think they offer great activities and are opening up more and more after Covid restrictions. We've been very pleased. It's a very reasonable price for what we're getting.

We were at a different Brookdale that was an entirely different experience. The main differences are in size and philosophy. Brookdale Monument Valley Park is a much smaller facility. The great thing is the residents are brought out of their rooms to be engaged in a lot of activities. Sometimes my friend doesn't want to go, but they cajole her into going and then she loves it. They really do try to get the residents up and out of their rooms and active as much as possible. The food is surprisingly excellent. It's fresh, with a lot of variety. The soups are especially excellent. They have fresh salads, and really lovely done main dishes. The chef on staff really pays attention to detail. The staff know everyone by first name, and you always see people out of their rooms walking around. There's music, and always some type of activity going on, and little dogs walking around that everybody knows. It's just a very warm, friendly, active community. Something that was important in our search for a community was ability to care for insulin-dependent diabetics. In Colorado, there are some very strict rules requiring 24-hour nursing. And because of that, not many assisted living facilities are able to take on residents with that condition, unless it's just a once-a-day shot situation. But we were fortunate to work with an independent healthcare service that was able to transition my friend from insulin to a different type of medication so she could move in here, where I think she's really going to thrive.

Our loved one absolutely loves the meals, and the activities are still kind of limited. It is mostly small group things, watching TV, and playing games. We do think the value for cost though is excellent.

As a whole, they're very genuine in wanting to take wonderful care of their residents. They've been very kind to my loved ones. There's nothing that didn't look clean or smell good, from the moment I walk in the building and continue on into my loved one's apartment. They have regular cleaning services and respond courteously and promptly to any requests in between regular services. The food is not stellar. That's the one area they're lacking in. My loved ones pay to have meals delivered to their room, so it's a little cold when it arrives. And some of the ingredients are lower quality or things they don't prefer. But the other residents we've talked to seem to like it. Other than that, it's lovely in every way. I would recommend them, and we've had a wonderful experience. I feel it's safe and well protected from Covid. I've worked in the industry for many years, and I wouldn't put my parents anywhere else.
