Brookdale

I have been to a few communities and they never treated me as well as the staff treats me here. I love the Friday Happy Hours they have.

All the people that work here come to your aid right away. The people are always friendly and great. You will never be bored.

I have never met a stranger in this community. I had a bad rash on my leg & they took such good care of me. There is always something interesting to learn here! It's very much home here.

Our family had an in person tour and the tour was great, all of the people we met with were very friendly and accommodating. We really liked their attitude about everything. The problem is the facility is older which is not always a problem but for us it was. Our loved one would have to navigate long hallways, walking outside and inside and back outside to get to places and the doors are not automatic. We felt with a walker or even a wheelchair this would be really difficult.

I find this to be a very nice & comfortable place with very nice employees.

I toured this community and it was wonderful to the staff out and engaging with the residents. We went during Happy Hour and the residents were talking and eating freshly made popcorn, and having drinks. It was a nice community.

We had four different facility visits scheduled on a Saturday in March 2022. Brookdale was the first visit on the list. After we finished there, we went to the next facility - it was obvious from the very beginning it would not be a match for our Dad. We ended up skipping the last two visits because we knew Brookdale was the right place for Dad. [name removed] at Brookdale did an amazing job answering all of our questions. She stayed in touch with my from my first online inquiry in Sept/Oct 2021 until our on-site visit in March 2022. She stayed in touch with his skilled care facility to monitor his progress, and visited him there too. [name removed] and the entire staff go above and beyond in all areas.

All around very nice, No negatives.

We chose Brookdale Nine mile because they first time we met with them they were completely honest and told us it wouldn't be cheap. We talked for an hour before we went on the tour. [name removed] who is the director was very forthright with us and we really appreciated it. He made sure to let us know that she would be able to stay here until end of life. I would recommend them to others.

This was a good community. My loved one wanted to be closer to their hometown in another state.

I toured Brookdale and it was a very nice community. I had a very good tour, and I really liked the lady who showed me around. Brookdale likely would've been an okay fit for my loved one, but at the time we were thinking about the cost(s). Their price was comparable to the community we chose, but the other community turned out to be less expensive.

Our family was going through a little bit of a chaotic time before our loved one moved in and they were very understanding of our situation which was something we really appreciated. They did not hound us for payments or anything regarding the move in process. Some of the staff have been there for 15 plus years which really speaks to the longevity which means to us that the staff are happy, they feel secured where they are at and with their job, how much they like it and just overall a really good work environment. The staff are very easy to work with, whenever we call with questions especially with billing since we have only been there for a short while, they are very responsive. The staff have really gone that extra mile to show genuine compassion to our loved one and our family. They work on ways to redirect our loved one if he is needing some direction. They work to get to know him on a personal level. They are very understanding on how to fix problems if problems arise, it is very residents forward and they never take that "easy way out" approach. So far all the activities are loved ones goes to really loves them. Overall the community is very clean which was one big selling point for us, there common/gathering areas are very clean and no smells. The only reason we gave it 4 out of 5, is sometimes our loved ones carpet could use a little more attention. The meals seem to be so far so good. We do like the fact that the price is all inclusive as well, we don't have to worry about the nickel an dime aspect. Overall even though our loved one has not been there for to long we are very pleased with how everything is going and he seems very happy there. We also really like how the staff are constantly reaching out to our mother who is considering moving in on the assisted living side to be closer to our father, they reach out to her and tell her all the time how much fun she will have, how welcomed she will feel which is something we really appreciate. It really has that family like atmosphere to it.

I like Brookdale Reno a lot. They do very nice job there. The staff are very kind and creative. I like that they have animals there - dogs and cats for the residents to interact with. And they bring in live entertainment at times. The facility is nice with smaller sections in each wing and then a general common area for everybody in the middle. And the cost seems comparable to other places.

We have been very happy with Brookdale and would recommend it for those seeking independent senior care. Good experience with staff and efforts to please. My mother in law likes the food and activities. The facility is well maintained, apartment has a nice view of pond and fountain and in a good neighborhood close to her son. Apartment was repainted, etc., and hung tv and pictures for her. Only complaint is loud noises come through adjacent walls from other apartments.
