Brookdale

We have been very happy with them. They have done a wonderful job. It's clean and nice, and the staff is friendly. I would rate them highly. I think we made a good choice.

Our visit at Brookdale was extremely informational and helpful. We are seriously looking at using their facility. We need to work o ut some financial issues but looks promising. Ms. Natalie and the staff were very kind and helpful. The facility was very clean and well kept.

There is no therapist to help people make the transition, which is a huge transition for older people. I think it is a really nice facility, it is very aesthetic. I just think they are understaffed and the one big gap is how they integrate people into the community. They say they have an ambassador program, but they don't have it and that is my main concern with the facility; just making new residents feel welcomed there.

Brookdale Peoria Union Hills is going well. My mother is very happy that he is there. He is all settled in. As far as I know there are no complaints.

Brookdale Beckett Meadows is going well. The staff has all been really good. The value is good. We have been pleased with this facility. I have no complaints.

At Brookdale Midwestern the staff is very caring and friendly. I think a lot of it comes down to money. My mom needs very minimal medical help. It is so expensive for mom to get those few medications that the staff need to give her and she still has to pay a lot. I think there should be different ranges on that. I am happy with them. I think it is the right places for her. The staff, the food, and the activities are all great. The activities director, Stephanie, is my favorite person. The staff here is what really makes this facility. I wouldn't have mom at any other place.

We liked this place and want to go back next Saturday with my mother-in-law to have lunch and show her around. The person you told us to see didn't know we were coming in and another person who is the Director, I think, gave us a tour. I believe her name was Lisa.

I think that they do a lot of things well. They have some really good staff, but they did have a lot of turnover. If you have a lot of new people sometimes there is a disconnect. My Mom was very happy there and she felt that the people were very kind. We felt that they really cared for Mom.

The facility is okay the exception of a couple of things. They are short staffed at times and the food could use improvement. The staff that is there is very friendly, but overworked. They could use some more help.

Brookdale Potomac is going well. The billing has been an issue. They send me a courtesy copy of the invoices. It seems to me that it is much higher than it was indicated. There was an initial community fee and I think they are charging that every month. I don't know for sure but it seems awfully high. Nothing in the bill is itemized, it is all a lump sum. They offer physio therapy in the building. My brother went for an evaluation and they want to see him regularly. They want to charge him $75 an hour but we cant find his medicare card. My main complaint is the food is great but the service is awful at this facility. They don't have appropriate help in the dining room. Therefore there is a lack of conversation going on. The facility is under constant refurbishing also. One of the things that attracted me to this facility was the library. Well, it's being refurbished and has been unusable. Upon move in they gave him a studio at the price of a companion suite which is really what we could afford for him. To get him in they offered this special price until there was a companion suite. But here we are 2 months later and there hasn't been one available. Everything is on hold as far as him getting settled. I like the place physically, it's very comfortable. My brother does like the facility. He is happy there. His mood is more upbeat than it has been in years. But the rate the the billing is going his funds will run out sooner than expected.

Well, there could be a little more improvement in the activities department, they could have a higher number of activities going on. Also with communication, just letting everyone know what is going on.

They have been doing good so far. No major complaints. I would like to see more activities perhaps. I haven't seen any issues she is clean and showered, and the meal times are pretty consistent. We chose them because they seemed cleaner, and like they offered a lot of activities. There were no restrictions on visiting hours, and the staff seemed to click with us better.

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. However, I don't think the care was the best match for what my loved one was needing at the time. It seemed like a nice enough place for those needing assistance, though.

It's not bad, there have been a few times things could have been better. They could be a little better with getting the medications handed out, they have been between nurses. Other than that they have been pretty good. They are friendly there, and it's clean. The food looks and smells good, but we haven't actually eaten it yet. It could use a little updating, but was less expensive than most of the others we saw.

At Brookdale Summer Ridge we really did like the people there. Stephanie was always really good. They were overly compassionate. The staff hated to see him go because he was such a nice man but he kept escaping. I have nothing bad to say about this facility. They were amazing. They took care of him the best they could but he needed a closer watch.

At Brookdale Westover Hills I think the communication was really good upfront when making the decision on this facility. However, the communication between the staff and family after we entered is lacking. I go visit in the evening after work and I don't know what is going on when I am not there. She makes up stories because she has dementia. I really need more information. I think they have it under control in the staff but I need to part of that team. They are very responsive, that's not an issue. I am going to have a meeting actually about that specific issue to see if I can be more of part of the team with the staff.

It seems to be going pretty well so far. I haven't heard any major complaints. So far we are pretty happy with them. It's clean and the staff is friendly, and there hasn't been any major frustrations with billing or anything else, to this point.

I liked the facility, but it will not work for my parents. There is a nurse on duty from 8am-5pm only to help with my mother's diabetes problems. I like that they have a memory wing so that when the alzheimer's patients need more attention, they do not have to move to another facility. Megan was very helpful and full of information.

The Brookdale Windsor just misrepresented all of the medical services that they offer at the facility. What I expected, in terms of the level of care that I was paying for, I did not receive from them.
