Brookdale

My husband is doing pretty good. I've been talking to the director to get some issues resolved. The staff leaves at 5PM and dinner is at 5PM. This leaves two people to clean up after dinner and get the residents ready for bed.I pay extra to have my husband have a two person lift because he is a big man. On Sunday there was only two caretakers so this leaves all the other 40 residents without a caregiver if they need something. The director took my advice into consideration and said they will start staggering on their schedule. They are bending over backwards to accommodate us.We chose Brookdale because we toured a few communities and this was the one that my husband liked the most.

I am having a great time since my move into the Brookdale Eden Estates. The place is clean and they have good meal choices. I have not joined many of the activities, but I have made new friends. One observation that I have made since living here is the dining situation. They have the dining room upstairs and everyone eats at the same time, my concern is what if there was a fire, the elevators would be shut down and all of then residents would be left to use the stairs. I think they should have a dining room on the first floor as well. Other than that, I am happy where I am at.

My mother selected Brookdale over several other places because she said during the initial visit that she "felt comfortable". As she was being uprooted from her home of 25+ years this was an important factor to consider. She has now been a resident for about a month -- anecdotally, her experience to-date has been largely positive. She seems to be adjusting well and is participating in social activities. She finds the staff warm and accommodating and likes the interaction with her fellow seniors. But she also likes that she has her own space to retire to. A few items of note - While not having to prepare her own meals is a big plus, she's still adjusting to more institutionalized food and set meal times. To be fair, there's nothing wrong with it - but she's an excellent cook, accustomed to eating a more Mediterranean diet. She isn't crazy over the cable channels available -- but I think it's because she's missing her local favorites. On the whole though, so far so good. Bottom-line - I have no idea if your loved one's experience would be the same as my mom's -- we are very involved in her life and care. My sister went in to the visit armed with questions. We also spent a lot of time getting her apartment set-up so it felt like home. All of this - combined with the efforts of the courteous and receptive staff at Brookdale played a part in making her move from a large single family home to a much smaller apartment and the receptive Brookdale community a success.

So far everything is going well with mother move to this community. It is impressive community, and everything is working out well. The have good rates that works well with our budget. This is a good community. I know my mother is in good hands. All is well so far for us at this facility.

My mom always says how wonderful the meals are and seems to have no complaints about her dinning experience. So I am very thankful that the chef does a good job at making sure that the meals he prepares are nutritious and have a good variety for the residents to choose from. The staff care also is very pleasant, they are very accommodating and helpful to my mothers needs especially because she is hard at hearing. Overall everything is fine so far and I have no complaints.

When I toured the Brookdale West Boynton Beach, I thought it was a very nice community but not the right fit for my father. That is personal preference. The staff was welcoming and friendly.

Everyone is very helpful and friendly, and has a genuine concern for the residents. The food is usually excellent. The facilities are beautiful. It is clean. The residents seem very happy there. They try to have a lot of activities, and some are geared toward everyone, such as doing cross-word puzzles, but the movies seemed to be mostly what women would like. Of course, the majority of the population is female. This was the best facility of all the ones I looked at and was more reasonably priced than the others for the service you receive. This is a smaller facility than some and so, they can provide more personal care for the residents. All in all, we found this facility to be the best fit or my father-in-law.

My mom is adapting pretty well and she has been more calm lately, which makes me feel better. The community is great and have done very well with Assisted Living. The care and promptness is here. My mom participates in all the activities and has won things from bingo. She eats suitable meals. All around I am satisfied and picked them because they are a lot smaller and all on one level.

This community is lovely and we really like it. My in laws have finally gotten involved in some of the many activities that they offer. The only thing that is a complaints is the food. It is very bland and they do not serve enough.

Everything has been going great so far. Mom has gotten into some of the activities which we like. I like that they have such a supportive community. We also like that it is small enough for mom to feel like she is at home.

It was an awesome tour but I was just disappointed with the room. They were too basic and not homey, it was small and old looking. The staff and residents were nice when I toured the community. The dining room was not special, it was a little downer for me when I saw it. However, everyone was nice.

My dad is fine we are happy with the staff and experience so far. All experiences after one month are fine except for the only negative experience which was related to the wheel chair. I am not familiar with wheel chairs and bought a transport one. After my dad was living there for 2 weeks they told him suddenly that wheel chair was too hard to push. They had his meal brought up to his room because of that. I resolved this problem by replacing the transport wheel chair with a standard one. They could have gave us a few days before bringing his meals to his room. For the most part he likes the meals, which is restaurant style. He has tried some activities but has not taken full advantage. The staff there is very professional and helpful. For example I suggested a Super Bowl watching party and they then proceeded to set that up - very nice. The community has a very nice, pleasant atmosphere and it looks nearly brand new. They offer transportation within their radius. I would recommend them to family and friends because they are confident with their care.

My father is doing very well. He moved from the memory care side to assisted living last week. He's participating in the activities. They even send me a slideshow of pictures while he's participating. I chose this community because of the amenities they provide.

The Brookdale seemed like a good fit for my mother at first, but she needed a higher level of care. It was nothing on Brookdale's part, I believe they tried for the most part.

When I toured the Brookdale East Mesa, I thought it was a very nice place. It was a clean community with friendly people, but it was not going to be the right fit for my husband.

I have been doing fine in my new community. I have not got involved in the activities they offer but I played bingo from time to time. I have very good lunches and the majority of the time it is good food. The staff are helpful and good people.

The staff at this community were nice, friendly and helpful. The food was ok, however they do use a little more spice than mom preferred. The community is kept very clean. This community is a little expensive and I would recommend taking a look at it to see if it would work for your loved one.

They've been good. There were a couple of communication issues but they have since been resolved. They are doing a good job. He isn't active so they are attempting to get him involved. My father is an old timer and enjoys Cajun food. He doesn't like the meals that they prepare but I think they are very good. We chose this community because I was in town visiting and toured with him. When it came time to move him into a community we selected Brookdale because we were familiar with them and it was a smooth transition.

When we toured Brookdale Champions, it was a very nice place with nice people. The main thing with this Brookdale was that it did not meet my mom's needs. It was a clean place, though.

This community seemed to be nice. The people were very helpful and friendly to us. The only issue that I saw might be a problem for mom was that the community looked like a campus. Mom may get lost trying to find her way around.
