I am from Northern Westchester Hospital. We scheduled talks for the Atria residents. We appreciated the opportunity to bring our providers to your facility. The staff was very welcoming, particulalry Jennifer who was always there to assist us with the set-up of each inidividual talk. Julie was also very welcoming and the person with whom we arranged these talks. Julie was there for the first talk, but not for the others, which was okay because Jennifer was there.

Choosing an assisted living for my Dad has been one of the hardest decisions in my entire life. My Dad is my entire world........he's always been my rock and since his diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, I have become his rock. When we were first told he couldn't come back home, I began looking into assisted living. As soon as I walked into Marland Place, I just had a amazing, warm feeling. Everyone was so nice to me and I felt from the start that the entire staff really cared about Marland Place and what they could do for my father. Rosie and Jim have Ben by my side the entire way......I cannot say enough about both of them. I have laughed and cried with them. Today I brought Dad to live there......words cannot describe how hard that was for me to close his apt door.....my Dad and I have always been an amazing team. I have to let go a bit and allow the Marland staff take over in my Dad's care.....it will be an adjustment for us both. Getting that phone call from Jim telling me that dad is just fine and he will thrive allowed me to breathe and my tears stopped flowing out.....although my Dad has been dealt a tough hand in life, he deserves to live the rest of his life in an amazing, loving and caring environment. I truly believe Marland Place is the place for him.......

My mom has been here for several months now. The staff is always super friendly to residents and guests. What we really like about it is that it is a smaller community so residents seem to interact more, We had previously tried a larger faculty that always seemed like a ghost town/museum than a community/home. Many of the activities are led by residence which has its advantages (people are engaged) and disadvantages (not every activity actually happens)

This was a two or three story building which I really didn't want because it's too hard when you have a problem with memory to find your way around and I didn't think multiple floors and stairs would help.

This place was very nice but not as convenient for us as another Sunrise location. It didn't have as many restaurants and things around to go out and it's wasn't as new. They had a house dog - a rescue dog that belongs to everyone in the community.

Activities, cleanliness and room size are all very good. Food is bad at best, tiny portions, some basically inedible fried foods, undercooked chicken. Some truly good staff members, but the turnover in aids is very disruptive. The building is getting long in the tooth and they are slow to fix where needed.

The daily exercise is great. The place is very nice. The problem is the consistency. The wait staff can be mean to the residents. The aides are understaffed and overwhelmed. The food can be inedible at times. Though I am hopeful with the new head of food services that was just hired. The wellness center is inconsistent and not on top of the med situation as it should be. For the amount of money my mom is paying, I expected better service and care. The physical therapist is wonderful. Overall my mother gets the feeling that most people on the staff don't care. That's sad for me to hear, especially because this is her home now and she is vulnerable.

My experience started out positively, but over time I have become disappointed with the increasing costs and overall value. The cost of living here continues to rise, and additional fees can add up quickly. The food was initially one of the things that attracted me to the community, but I feel the quality has declined. Maintenance is generally responsive, although there have been times when help was not available when it was needed. There have also been some building and maintenance issues that have caused frustration. I have considered moving because I'm no longer sure the experience justifies the cost. The hardest part would be leaving the wonderful neighbors I've grown close to and truly care about. Overall, what started as a promising experience has changed over time. As I would say, the bloom is off the rose.

My mom had a nice large space which was fine. But the entire facility has been undergoing remodeling, so there has been a lot of noise which has been unpleasant. Also a lot of staffing issues. They lost their driver, so no outings or field trips the entire time my mom was there. They also lost their main chef, so the dining experience, according to my mom, went down hill after that. They were also short staffed on cleaning crew, which meant that the maintenance staff had to fill in and clean apartments and help with laundry, making it harder for maintenance to take stay on top of care of maintenance for residents apartments. Everyone who works there is very nice. It just felt like bad timing as the company seems to have bigger plans for the location.

The place looks lovely. A lot of the staff seem to just phone it in, an exception being the reception staff. Many of the activities were just groups watching a big screen. [name removed] only lived about 6 weeks at Atria before she passed.

First, the sales pitch... We were told she would have an ambassador for the first couple of weeks. Who came to get her out and introduce her around. Turns out, that was just a couple of days. Mom is awkward socially, so we were really looking forward to that . So that was disappointing. The staff in general is very good. The woman who cleans her room and the server in the dining room are both fabulous. That said, we have had to ask them for several things that we shouldn't have had to like following up on her clean towels and her room getting cleaned, and they were late, giving her her morning support several times. We also had some things shipped there from amazon and we know that they were delivered there, but they never made it to her room. The activities seem pretty good, although mom's not really interested in very many of them, so we can't give much feedback there. That's an Us problem, not an Atria problem. Quality of the food honestly is a little lacking. Mom says they're frequently out of a lot of staples. But as I said, the cleaning stuff is great. Her room and the facility is clean and well cared for. She has a one bedroom, and it's a nice size. Two big closets are great. My sister also mentioned that the food is lacking.... Or declining... She's been with my mom at mealtime, a couple of times. One example was, mom ordered the beef stew, and there was only one tiny piece of beef in it. They're frequently out of chocolate ice cream.

I was a victim of View and Switch, Bait and Switch. On [date removed], I was shown four apartments. The one that I was considering on leasing was smaller but cost more. I asked my salesperson to check with her superior about negotiating a lower price under these circumstances. She came back to me that the one I was interested in had been sold (while I was touring) and that another apartment had become available (while I was touring). This is suspicious to me, and I told them so.

Apartment size is normal. Atria el Camino garden has two restaurants but one is constantly closing due to staffing shortages. The service for food tends to be a little slower then my mom likes. They just raised prices but still having staffing issues. They did the laundry and lost my moms sheets for her bed. So in general the staffing issues a issue

Positives: activities Sunday thru Thursday and Friday, she's made great friends, place is beautiful, food is good. Negatives: she was not getting regular twice weekly showers at first because she supposedly gave them a hard time. I complained since her hair was always greasy. They have since resolved this issue. They do not do enough walking with them. Most exercise is upper body seated. She still walks on her own so it would be best to keep her walking.

Having to use a community bathroom at night wasn't easy Plumbing ?? issues twice was unacceptable I have heard from several other residents that they had plumbing problems The food is pretty good but too much pork and fish

My Dad was in the dementia care unit. It would work well for someone with early onset of dementia, but not the best for higher levels of care.

Things began changing drastically after the first of the year. All 4 directors were changed. They could not keep a consistent chef or cooks and ,finally, they went down to 1 RSA every shift ( the RSA serves all 3 floors. The facility is still beautiful but there are too many gaps in service.

The administrative staff is absolutely awesome and very professional. Unfortunately much of their staff does not live up to the standards, promises. and expectations of Atria Del Sol. For example simple things like putting trash liners in trash cans, making beds properly, listening to directions from superiors. They also have a major problem where laundry is concerned - losing items, delivering items to the wrong residents, etc. I'll be honest if it wasn't for the care my husband receives from the administration and one or two of the staff, I would move him.

To be very honest, I don't see my mother being there longer than 3 months with the price, the services, access to activities, and their general approach to residents in memory care. My mother was put in memory care due to memory issues, but I do feel like staff was a little misleading with how they presented access to nonmemory areas of the facility as well as access to the daily menu. My mother is still very social with the purpose of her being in assisted living to engage and socialize with people capable of holding conversations as well as to be cared for rather than being by herself. I made this very explicit to the staff when visiting. The memory care floor is far from that and does not meet the expectation laid out. I feel like the staff can disregard her requests as well as others because they are in the memory care unit. With the amount being paid and what I was looking for in care, I feel a little let down in what was presented and what is being received.
