The staff are friendly and the facility is very nicely set up. They offer a ton of activities and the staff are all very friendly. My father lives here, and the only things which I personally feel are not perfect are the laundry service (missing items, sometimes sloppily folded/sloppily placed in closet or drawers); and there does not seem to be sufficient night staff (my father is often helped into bed much earlier than he would prefer because staff do it when they can fit it in). I get the sense that these issues are common in this type of facility. Overall however, I am extremely pleased and would recommend this facility!

We are so pleased at the Church services that the Crossings have every two weeks--the two or sometimes three guitarists are WONDERFUL and the Preaching from the tall bearded man is exceptional--thank you all for having them come every other SUNDAY at 9 am, Mother and Father just love it--they asked why more people do not come

This is a nice community. We like the care from the staff who are very caring. The community is clean and a very good environment for my mom. I like knowing that she is very happy with the menu. They have activities that are offered for the residents that want to participate. We would recommend the care and the value of this community to other families.

Dad really likes living at this community. He has a nice suite and the community is clean. The food is good and they offer a large variety of options on a menu. They have a large variety of activities including various trips out. The only thing I see that could be improved is the grounds. They have good medical care and the doctor comes out to visit. I would recommend this community.

I am very satisfied with the spacious apartment that my wife and I moved into at this community. We have a lovely full kitchen with lots of big windows that give us a beautiful view of the woods. They have a great activity program that has more than enough games and events planned to keep us busy throughout the day as well as meet all of the other residents that live in the complex. I think my wife and I have found the perfect home and am looking forward to my future here.

My loved one is very happy with her move to this community. The community is brand new, so it's only one-third full so far. The place is maintained well, they clean my loved one's room once a week. The community provides a choice of either lunch or breakfast and the food is fantastic. They have a theater where they play movies, my loved one goes with friends often. They have a concierge who checks up on her when she's not feeling well, as well as take her dinner to her room. Her room is comfortable, she has a huge walk in closet.

I would give the food a 2. It was not what I anticipated based on the sample I was given. We are trying to work with them to improve this. They offer daily activities, however they are not utilized by the residents. They keep the community clean. I would recommend this and let them know about my concerns up front.

The Chamberlin is a great place to live. There are lots of amenities: indoor pool, gym equipment, fine dining, inside and outside activities, transportation service, every other week housekeeping, onsite rehabilitation service available, caring friendly staff and residents, and the view is magnificent!

The Chamberlin is beautiful and I love walking my dog along the sea wall and watching the ships coming and going. The residents and staff are very friendly and helpful. I'm still unpacking so I haven't had time to investigate the activities yet. I rented this place sight unseen and it has been everything I expected and more.

Excellent staff that really cares about the residents. Room sizes were generally larger than the other four properties we visited. Amenities were slightly less in quality but of no interest to us.

Harmony at Oakbrooke has been a much better fit for [name removed] and for our family in terms of location and convenience. It is only about 25 minutes from me, compared with the minimum 40-minute drive to Waterford, and that makes a big difference when I’m visiting or need to get to her quickly. The location is especially convenient because it is only about five minutes from the hairdresser [name removed] has gone to for 30 years, and one of her favorite restaurants is only about 10 minutes away. Having those familiar places nearby makes the transition much easier. We were also fortunate to get a discounted rate at Harmony because of some damage from broken pipes. Even with the smaller apartment, it is only about $[removed]more per month than what Waterford costs us now. The apartment is smaller overall, but the kitchen and bathroom are actually larger. [name removed] didn't need the extra space in the living room and bedroom, and having a smaller area to move around in is perfectly fine for her. There are also more choices at mealtime, which has been a nice benefit. As far as care, I have not seen a major difference at Harmony so far. However, there was one situation that gave me some encouragement. [name removed] fell in the shower, pulled the assistance cord, and several people came to help her, including the PA. That was very different from our experience at Waterford when she fell out of bed and waited approximately 45 minutes for assistance. [name removed] did not pay for assistance during her first month at Harmony because they wanted to observe her and determine what level of assistance she actually needed. Now that they have had time to assess her needs and an appropriate level of assistance has been determined and paid for, I am hopeful that she will receive more assistance as needed. When I signed [name removed] up, I also provided Harmony with a three-page letter explaining her habits, routines, and needs. I hope that information, along with their assessment of her needs, will help them provide the appropriate care. So far, Harmony is a nice, clean place, and the location is incredibly convenient for me. We are still getting settled and learning how everything works, but I am hopeful that it will continue to work out well for [name removed].

[name removed] was very good and friendly. Harmony at West Shore is a fantastic option for my MIL! She's very happy with the quality of care, food and all of the wonderful activities, staff and residents! I would recommend it to others!

As for my experience I have found it to be just ok. My last independent care was so much more welcoming than I find from the community here. So far the staff that I have had contact with have been very nice and helpful. The cleanliness is wonderful. They are always working to keep up. My apartment is cleaned once a week. If I were picking a room again I would choose a two bed, two bath. I just like a lot of space. I have one of the largest 1 bedroom but I have felt crowded. As for food, it's advertised as a Chef prepared meal. It is not and the meals show it. I buy my own and have help to prepare in the apartment.

Friendly staff clean rooms my husband was not a very good patient but they tried. My husband complained they didn't come fast enough when he rang the bell.

My mother's room is great. She really likes it. Complains about the elevators being out of order a lot. Also says sometimes the food is not so great. Other than that she seems happy. Has made a lot of new friends.

The facility itself is clean and beautiful! So are the rooms and most of the staff I have encountered

Apartment is well appointed - warm, neutral flooring and walls, wood kitchen cabinets and granite countertops. Primary BR and both baths are very roomy. The common areas in facility are very clean and tidy. Weekly in-apartment cleaning service is just okay. They don't dust surfaces that have Knick knacks on them, and run vacuum AROUND things that are easily moved (e.g. pouf ottomans, desk chairs, etc.). Mom says they do a good job on bathrooms. The apartment is 2 BRs, 2 bath rooms, living room, sunroom and kitchen -- cleaner is done in about 15 minutes - draw your own conclusions. Food is good, not fine dining, but good if you're not looking for gourmet. Decent variety. Mom says that for the past 3 months or so, the meals are barely warm when served. She and table mates have gone to residents' meetings a few times and told staff about it, but so far, no change. Staff is very attentive and friendly, although follow-up is sometimes slow. For example, Mom requested a lower, stackable washer/dryer (she is ~5' 1" tall and has to use a 3-step stool to reach controls and empty the dryer). Maintenance supervisor came to apartment and agreed it's a hazard for 89 year old to climb step stool in order to do laundry. Promised to look into it. That was a month ago and no status yet. BTW, some residents do have a w/d that is lower.

Cleanliness is wonderful. The colors chosen for the decor are very calming and welcoming. That is carried well throughout the building. Staff is very positive and helpful. I have experienced that and heard residents comment along those lines as well. A new activities director has recently joined the staff and she is delightful and motivating. The residents are active and I am hearing good things. There have been several changes recently to the dining services area recently, including a new food vendor. The jury is still out on that one. My mom's apartment is a wonderful size and well organized to meet her needs. She is pleased with where she is living. And she loves the beautician. Says she is excellent

The place is very nice. I like it here a lot. They have a wonderful activity department. Something always going on staff is always friendly if I had to complain about one thing. It would be the food. The food is just not good. I don't know how to fix it. We've complained about it. I don't know how many times and nothing ever changes. We just would like to have some good home cooked meals. Not strange things to eat. So that's my only complaint is the food
