Brookdale

Everything generally is good regarding the care. They do not communicate very well regarding her condition and never told me she had Covid recently. I had to hear that from her hospice nurse after the fact. Now that my mother is on hospice I'm getting many more updates.

Everyone was friendly there whenever I stopped by they were always say hi and then tease my dad about different things.

I appreciate the reliable and caring staff that help my mother be her best and continue to have good health. I don't worry about her care in my absence and can sleep at night knowing she is in good hands. Seeing the same staff there consistently helps with her continuity of care and sense of stability. Additionally, I appreciate the extras that she benefits so much from such as music, entertainment, field trips, and all the attention given around the holidays to her and her sweet neighbors.

I felt very comfortable with the people who worked with me to get her in.

It was expensive but they allowed us to go on DSHS MEDICAID after 1 year most places were 2 years private pay. They were kind and it was a homey family environment. His clothes and belongings would get lost sometimes but always seemed to make their way back eventually. The rooms were clean and comfortable most had extra chairs and it was ok for families to hang pics,shelves etc plus they allowed us to bring my dads recliner,tv,and mini fridge .They even helped him fix his tv a few times. Each room has its own bathroom minus a shower . I got to know the staff well through my dad's illness and they were wonderful.Very apparent that they really cared and it's not just a job for them.

The value at Brookdale is the staff and caring for individuals that truly are AL level. Once they require more and more assistance - 1 and 2 person assist, higher level care, such as wound care, etc... they struggle on maintaining the same level of quality. The price goes up with each of those changes accordingly, but i would say the quality does not go up on the same trajectory

The room and toilet not clean for more than a week now. Boarding and lodging cost unreasonable for a elderly person with next to zero income. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families because they work with Medicaid. If private pay only, I wouldn't.

I have had a number of concerns over the course of the past few months. They have all been resolved to my satisfaction. The management and the clinical staff at Brookdale West Hartford are good.

I haven't tried the food, but my sister isn't a fan. It's a little expensive as my sister needs extra care/help with meds and has a dog that must be walked. Most of the staff are friendly and caring. I believe I would be happy there with all of the nice residents and activities. My sister has had a little trouble acclimating and misses her grandchildren. And, the staff is friendly with one exception. We would recommend Brookdale!

Improvements could be cleaning patient rooms better, especially the floor. However, yes I would recommend them to other families.

If you need to be in a senior living community. Brookdale Valencia s a good place to bed.

The staff are all very kind and attentive to their residents. There are some staffing issues with the activities, so a lot of times they are cancelled or not available. Value is hard to judge, I am finding more charges than I was initially aware of.

It would be hard to find a place with as good a location that offers as much as you get here for the price. We picked this community because of the location and value.

My loved one likes her caregivers and we would recommend Brookdale Spring Shadows to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

The learning period was hard, now we feel at home. The help in facilities. The office staff is great and very helpful. We have made friends which is because you are all just alike.

My brother moved to Memory Care a year ago from Assisted Living. The space is entirely too small for the number of residents (22-24). Many are in wheelchairs, thus requiring more space than usual. There are only two common rooms and an outside space that is rarely used. The manager of MC, [name removed], is excellent and does her best in trying circumstances. The staff is helpful and caring. I recommend that the management convert two of the MC residential rooms into additional common space for the residents. Also the unit requires painting.

We had a great experience with Brookdale & we are grateful for the assistance A Place for Mom provided. My mother in law passed away two years ago, but we do appreciate the recommendation for Brookdale! Brookdale was helpful, encouraging, & addressed any questions or concerns I may have had during her stay with them. We would highly recommend A Place for Mom & Brookdale!
