The activities at this community are what sold me! My father is 86 years old and struggling with depression from all the isolation. Very difficult for us to get to him with the pandemic happening. We were blessed that this community is so close to us here in Almaden, it's perfect! So excited for the opening of this beautiful community.

I'm very excited to have my mom in a community where I know she will thrive. Atria Almaden will be the best place for my mother, a retired school administrator. My mother has been isolated for so long that her health has declined. After visiting and depositing with Atria Almaden, I know my mother will obtain all the social interaction she needs. Very happy with my choice.

Had a virtual tour with the sales team. They were extremely knowledgeable about their community and were very helpful. The virtual tour only lasted about 10 minutes but we had so many questions that it ended up taking over an hour. Our parents will be moving in at the opening in December. So excited to see that our parents will be so well cared for.

[name removed] and I can't wait to live at Atria Almaden. Attention to sales detail has been very good. We trust this team and feel that Atria Almaden is the right fit for us. If I had one complaint it would be that we want it open NOW! Don't want to wait until [date removed] to start our new adventure.

Aria Almaden is a God send - I have been looking after my parent for the past 3 years and am extremely thrilled that this new community is so close to my home in Almaden. The amenities are one of a kind and all the food/alcohol is included. I'm especially fond of the 4th flow Sky Lounge with live music and happy hours. The kitchens in the apartments are beautifully appointed with stainless steal appliances and quartz counter tops. I'm so happy that my parents will be living at this beautiful community.

I had lived at Sonrisa now for two years. It is home to me, I love this place very much. This is independent living and I hope it stays that way. There is lots to do here many places to go many trips outside of Sonrisa. Come and take a look at us you’ll love it.

What we like the most about the community is the location, activities and food. We would recommend The Watermark at Almaden.

The staff during the tours and leading up to admission was helping and knowledgeable and the on boarding was rather smooth. Unfortunately, the move in process definitely needs to be looked at closely. We were surprised that the facility did not supply a durable and suitable moving equipment such as a large cart to assist with moving in the large furniture. All they had was a broken luggage cart. After getting into the facility, it took a lot more time (definitely more that I expected) to get acclimated to the facility. There was no one clearly communicating next steps, ie: cleaning schedule, processes to get things done around the room, care giving responsibilities, etc. Lastly, although the Watermark does have a hospice waiver, they have only had a few hospice patients within their facility. My loved one turned out to be one of the first ones. Therefore, the staff and caregivers did not seem to clearly understand what their responsibilities were to care for my aunt. The head nurses did do their best to communicate with our hospice coordinator, which was helpful. But I don't know if that information was trickle down to the caregivers that helped my loved one on a daily basis. Our hospice aides and nurses did help with communicating to them what my loved one needed. Overall, we understand that no facility is perfect. We do feel that The Watermark is the right place for my loved one. We are all just remaining patient as we learn to navigate everything there is learn about assisted living. We appreciate what the staff and caregivers have done thus far to ensure my loved ones safety and health.

Corporate cut the budget for the kitchen! Who needs the funds more, the staff attempting to provide the best for residents, or the over-paid executives?! Our parents of course! The staff isn't given the money they need to provide as high quality meals as they'd like; and service expected. The location is filling up and the staffing numbers now aren't keeping pace. It takes a long time to get your meal (in the dining room) so it arrives lukewarm or cold. Residents may pay [fee removed] to have a meal delivered to their room (no fee if they're ill) yet delivery is an hour or two later than requested and it's cold. The staff is excellent! However, there is a concern in regards to the time it takes for a response (resident says it takes a long time. Staff say they respond within 15 minutes?). There's a new Program Director and things are looking a bit more lively as of late. Was told at the time we toured that staff would go to residents' rooms to bring them to activities. This has been inconsistent (In all fairness, resident may have turned down the staff's invitations but if that's the case, the weekly activity attendance report should indicate such.) When resident first moved in, staff made rounds every couple of hours through the night to check on them. As membership grows, don't know if that's still being done. Concerned that there's not a medical staff member on site 24/7. We knew that when we chose this site, but something to consider beforehand. The protocol with any medical concern is to call it in (Fire dept.; While exceptional people, their fee is [fee removed].)

It's a clean facility and the staff is helpful. The food is iffy, but they seem to have a lot of activities for the residents. It looked new and the rooms were a good size for my mom.

Right now...the facility is in a transition, so the quality of Aides is a hit or a miss. They do their job, but they are just learning the residents. Some of them are friendly. Some just do their job and that's it. The housekeeping is fine. They come once a week. I can't speak on the meals because I don't eat there. My mother doesn't like some of the meals. As for a recommendation, if you can afford to pay out of pocket, definitely. It's very pricey. But it's clean and the staff is friendly.

Overall I am very happy here I am been here for quite sometime - but they have struggled with hiring a manager that stays consistently so something's are haphazard. [name removed] does a wonderful job in the kitchen - sometimes the meals come out cold but he is currently working on fixing that problem. Overall based on the experience I have had I would recommend Atria Almaden to other families .

They left my incontinent mom soaking, wet clothes in shower, room reeked of urine, failed to replace waterproof sheet on mattress and ruined it. She fell had bruises - after 2 days no one was aware. Call button response was more than the 15 min they said they react as protocol. They did not encourage activity attendance as promised. Twice movies that were supposed to happen did not and she was sitting in theatre until someone noticed. It's basically like a dorm with meds and meals provided and you are on your own. Residents were not that friendly or inclusive.

New facility transitioning to a full service and smooth running is challenging and our initial experience was very bumpy. Caused what I would call undue stress. They were clean and lots of activities for residents.

The director turnover is like a revolving door. The caregivers are understaffed during the 6A-2P Shift. Sometimes there's only 1 working for the entire facility.
