Commonwealth Senior Living

We needed memory care for Dad, and this was the only AL that we visited that was cheerful and inviting. The facility is newer, bright, high ceilings, and very customizable for Dad’s apartment. The staff are engaging and friendly. We have no complaints.

The staff always friendly activities Director always trying to get mom engaged, her apartment is always spotless. Director of care, as well as Med techs have called me after hours on the weekends, letting me know details on how mom's doing if she had a fall how she recovering if she needs further assistance, etc. I'm very pleased with the facility and their people. Most importantly their people.

Last week I had a bit of an incident at the Ballentine. [name removed] came to my rescue!!!! She was quick, calming, and right on point!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER!!! THANK YOU [name removed]!!! You are an exceptionally hard and dedicated worker.

The initial application/move in process was pretty easy. The apartment is set up well for convenience and safety. My father-in-law enjoys the activities. The staff is pleasant. I've heard no complaints over the last year from him.

Our experience with the staff during the move to assisted living was very positive. From the beginning, everyone was welcoming, kind, and helpful. The staff made what could have been a stressful and emotional transition feel much easier. They were patient, understanding, and willing to answer our questions. We especially appreciated how attentive they were to our needs and how they took the time to make sure everything was in place and comfortable. The staff’s compassion and professionalism made a big difference during this important transition. We truly appreciate all of their help and the way they made us feel welcomed and supported. It was a very good experience, and we are grateful to have such caring people involved in the move. Yes, we would recommend the community to other families.

Everything was amazing. [name removed] didn't participate in activities, but anytime I walked by and seen them going on, they looked fun and everyone seemed to be enjoying them. Staff was very friendly and pleasant with me as well as [name removed]. I ate there a few. Times and food was good. Wait staff and chef seemed to really aim to please residents. Apartment size was sufficient.

The staff took good care of my wife. The rooms are a decent size. I had brought a double bed, small chest, and nightstand for her and they fit easily. I also brought a chair for visitors with a footstool. One thing that bothered me a little was that on the day my wife passed, they called hospice first when she had difficulty breathing but didn't call me. I was already on my way and when I got there they told me they had just called hospice, so maybe they were about to call me.

Care: 5 out of 5. They do take good care of him Food: 4, but I'm picky. We had Thanksgiving dinner with him and the stuffing was Stovetop. So that's why the 4 and I get that that's unreasonable. You're not gonna get my home cooking in a group.setting. ?? Activities: Really can't say. Dad doesn't want to participate in anything and they encourage, but of course they can't force, so I just don't know. Communication: we've had a couple of fumbles early on, but they worked to correct them, so I'll give that a 5 Cleanliness: Again, I'm making allowances because Dad doesn't cooperate. He's always been clean when I go. The room has an odor but he refuses to open his door or windows and if you can't air the place... Not much can be done. Overall cleanliness:4.5 The laundry service could use improvement. They're supposed to be doing his laundry and they do, but the sheets don't get changed. Once the bottom sheet "disappeared" and he was sleeping on the mattress cover, but I found the sheet right on his closet shelf, soooo ya. I'll give laundry, specifically, a 3. Room size 5. Much nicer rooms than any of the other places we looked at. Staff are all great, friendly, caring. Overall I'm really, really glad he's there. I could live a happy life there myself (if they'd let me do some cooking in my room now and then ??)

Quality of care - 4, we didn't need a lot of care for mon 5. Admin staff - 5 6. Food - 4.5 - the menu always "sounds " great, but it's still mass cooked meals for an older crowd, maybe I'm not the best judge, my mom is liking it 7. Activities - 5, appreciate the visiting musicians greatly 8. Value - tough question, this is an exceptionally overpriced industry - i don't know how to address value... maybe rank at 4 only because I know there were more options for a lot more money

The staff is made up of great people. The community is very clean, the rooms are nice, and the menus are good. There are lots of activities to keep Mom occupied and engaged. Overall, I would give them my highest rating—two thumbs up! I can positively recommend Commonwealth Senior Living at Willow Grove to anyone looking to place a family member in a Senior care facility.

5 all the way. What we like the most about the community is that they keep the members active and yes we would recommend Commonwealth Senior Living community to other families based on the experience we have had.

We are very happy with Commonwealth. Great food, awesome updates facility, always smell good, great activities to encourage family members to come and spend time with family members.

Some of the staff is wonderful (OT, PT Staff is great) most of the admin is hard to get answers from except for [name removed]. Aids that work for the residents do not come when button is pushed. If your parent requires help and you pay for it don't expect it. Just some things I've noticed

I found that the staff were very caring, very sincere and honest and their care for [Name Removed]. [Name Removed] went in on [Date Removed]. She died on [Date Removed] and their concerns and their assessments and their ability to make her last days as comfortable as possible were excellent. Highly recommend it. I would also like to add that [Name Removed] was under hospice care during her tenure. The staff were very supportive. Followed instructions of hospice and made [Name removed] last days to be as comfortable as possible.

They are very caring people and always willing to step in if you or your love one needs help with anything

It's a great place. Family, homey environment. Friendly staff, clean, welcoming, considerate of the resident's needs.

Make sure you stay involved in your loved ones Care visit as often as possible

All of the above is great at Commonwealth senior living. I have no experience with the memory care level there so I can't comment. I'd give the independent and assisted living levels a five. A really friendly staff, good general care, lots of activities and transportation services provided, adequate apartment sizes. Good cleanliness, really nice dining room rooms, sparkly clean though I've heard the food is a little bland.

They go above & beyond what other senior facilities would do to help families in tough situations. The staff were all on board to protect my mom. I couldn't ask for a better place to have my mom at. Sadly, she passed away after only two months at Commonwealth Senior Living from cancer. But at least she was in a safe, clean place with people watching out for her instead of living in a filthy hoarder house. My sister still hates me, but I did the right thing and I couldn't have done it without Commonwealth's help
