The staff in the Independent living section has been amazing. [name removed] showed me around and is one of the main reasons we went with Brookside. The head nurse [name removed] is very caring and supportive. Her follow through when incidents occur is amazing. [name removed] from activities had a huge heart and so caring to the residents. All of the nurses I have interacted with have been carrying and helpful. My sister currently has to be hospitalized and they are in constant contact with me making sure that i am ok as well as my sister. Facility is always clean. I am very impressed with Brookside and feel my sister is lucky to have such an amazing group of caregivers.

I love living at The Commons (new name) my rating is 5. Some of the things at The Commons I don't think are available at other places: washer and dryer in every apartment, private storage on every floor, indoor heated parking and walking paths along the river. Plus, everyone here is really nice and helpful. I really appreciate you telling me about The Commons, it's not a place I would have found on my own.

Our family's overall experience with the Commons was wonderful. We felt that Mom’s care by the nurses and aides was beyond our expectations. Mom loved each of “her girls,” who supported her daily needs. From the very first contact, we encountered many friendly staff members.

What we like the most about Beaumont Commons Dearborn is the safety, friendliness of other residents, upkeep and maintenance of the building - (except the elevator seems like it might need some maintenance), nice meals at a good value in the café.

I have had extended visits with mom at Beaumont Commons Dearborn, while in their bridge to home setting, and the care and concern shown by the staff is comforting. I would recommend families explore the many options offered at Beaumont Commons, Dearborn. From independent, assisted and memory care living.

Beaumont Commons is very close to our family which was very important to us. When we speak to him he tells us that he is enjoying the meals and dining service. Overall the value is really good and we would recommend this community to other families based on our experience so far.

The staff are extremely attentive with my health, knowing my name, and in general. The food preparation and service has been a bit problematic due to COVID; however, they are trying to work on this currently.

The facility is clean, the staff is attentive. I noticed a decline over the last couple of months and then it was announced that Corewell sold the property. The new owners took over [date removed]. It is now called Brookside Commons. The food definitely needs improvement. They also need more activities.

The staff is pleasant and attentive. The apartment is spacious. The facility is very clean. The dining hall is good. My mom's only complaint is the food.

The independent living facility is beautiful. The assisted living program is their weak link. It's dark and depressing, and the activity space was very small, and they don't have any activities on Sundays.

My experience with Riverside Commons has been deeply disturbing. My father-in-law cannot speak and is paralyzed on his right side, leaving him completely dependent on staff. Yet he is NEVER properly sat up for meals. His tray is routinely left without anyone ensuring he can reach the food, open containers, or safely eat. There are constant shortages of towels, sheets, and basic supplies. Too often, staff appear to sit around while completely dependent residents are left without essential care. A very small number of employees have shown genuine compassion, but they are the exception. Sitting a paralyzed man up to eat, making sure he can access his meal, and providing clean linens are not “extra” care—they are the absolute minimum. Families trust this facility with vulnerable human beings. Friendly smiles mean nothing if the actual care is not being done. Compassion is what happens when no one is watching, and Riverside Commons has repeatedly failed that test.
